We love Alcobaça and were so pleased to be able to share this pretty town with Ma and Gazza… and to have great interactions with the friendly locals!
In case you haven't seen any of our other Alcobaça videos, here's the link to our Alcobaça on a Budget vlog:

King Afonso not Alfonso, we are portuguese not spanish
I just arrived to Portugal as you are leaving. Your videos have given me so many suggestions of places to visit…I want to see it all! I am amazed at how much is packed into this little country.
Looks like such a great time. I'll have to find those melon/pears. When we went to Alcobaca, there were four weddings at the church.
Very nice video about Alcobaça. There's a porrtuguese song wich lyrics are "Quem passa por Alcobaça, não passa sem lá voltar" (who cames in Alcobaça, has to come back") and that make senses because it's a friendly place with an important monastery from the XII century founded in the times of first portuguese king, Afonso Henriques. Cheers.
Fun video and so great to meet one of your followers from the US who is now in Portugal. Wishing you both safe travels and look forward to your next videos.
Frugal musician tip… carry cutlery AND a roll of freezer bags for when buffet food gets left over at the end of the night and the hosts encourage you to take some home!
The market fruit and veg looks amazing!
Going to miss these Portuguese explorations, but also looking forward to new adventures in the unknown (to me) countries of the Middle East! ❤
Another excellent post by our favorite vloggers!! Thank you guys, now we'll have to try that melon pear next time we go to Alcobaca!
Wow what a beautiful city. Nice walking tour in this fantastic market👌
That Lee boy could charm the fruit of the trees 😉 great market for discovery, kool vid as always camera work 🎥 😎👍
Which city or town in Portugal was your favorite….meaning if you were to move back to Portugal and settle down, where would you? BTW have fun on your new adventure….
My water bottle started leaking in Lisbon, so the hotel clerk directed us to the Decathlon only a few blocks away. The bottle I bought there for €6 costs $12.99 on their US website! They also have the most amazing system to check out, just put all your items in the bin and all the RFID tags are read at once.
Wonderful support of the local markets as always. I hope you’ll be allowed to film in the UAE. Looking forward to learning about your home countries as well. 😊
You must discover the really friendly market in Portugal: Mercado do Bolhão, Porto! Try and then compare!
Great video! Lee, your Portuguese is really good. How did you learn?
Olá Mandy / Lee,
Lovely video with the locals + the US chap. Friendly atmosphere / people.
It's nice they don't force people to buy, while still explaining what it is, how it's made..
I'd love to try that fruit to kill my curiosity, I don't think I've ever seen them.
Extremely good value meals, especially Mandy's plate. Ma's omelette looked EGGceptional 😉
Wishing you guys a lovely weekend 😎
Thank you for another lovely video. I was impressed with the busses in Portugal, as well, except for the lack of a bathroom.
Thanks Mandy and Lee. Yet another lovely trip to Alcobaca. I will dearly miss your trips round Portugal. ❤️🙏🙂
Great video guys.
Must try to organise our day trip there next year on market day.
Love that colour blue on you Mandy.
Another great insight into life in Portugal – I do love the markets. Lee talking about being frugal – Gazza just pipes up – "It's just common sense!" – I'm going to miss Gazza on future vlogs 🙂
Hii sir and mam , how are ypu both doing?
Thanks to see you again
Hello sir how are you?
