
Did you know that in Portuguese we have 4 definite articles? Do you know all of them? Do you know how they are used? These are some answers I’m going to answer in this video.
DEFINITE ARTICLES IN PORTUGUESE
In English you have only one definite article: “the”. In Portuguese we have: o, os, a, as; and all of them mean “the”. Why is it like that? Because they agree in gender and in number with the noun it refers to.
So, whenever the noun is:
Masculine Feminine
Singular O A
Plural Os As
So, in this video I left a huge amount of examples to show you how to choose between them.
Besides that, you must know that we use definite articles much more than English do, and the rules for that are also in this video.
