Wonderful vista…love the stone water tank…….
Cidreira is the name in Portuguese
Beautiful mountains views.
You have a fantastic view and alot of work to do good luck with everything
Not boring at all. I like seeing people work. Can’t wait to see end result.
good morning from the Netherlands, I've been following you since I saw the first video.
me and my wife have been to your house for about 2 years to look. (we were also looking for a small cheap house in Portugal.) we then took a good look at the house and also the other house which is for sale at the end of the village.
(the other house is still a dream, but I don't know if we will make the step to buy a house in Portugal)
but I think it's very nice that you are so busy with your house and I follow everything with I think slightly different eyes than most people!
(thanks for your beautiful videos! it feels like I'm walking around again!)
Kind regards. Arno
If I was there iwould help you. For free.
keep the old tiles to put them on the top of the walls by ballasting them with stones so that they do not fly away with the wind when you leave your little paradise, this will allow the old walls not to be too saturated with water from above when the autumn, winter and spring rains return
I imagine you already know this but you have to strip your house bare, remove all the wood, even those that seem healthy to you because the larvae are inside, you will have a considerable volume of waste, the ideal would be to burn the wood in the oven and do not try to keep any because it is in this way that renovated houses have been contaminated by wood insects to the point of rotting the new wooden elements which were then introduced for the renovation! the intentions of using old wood are good but the result can be dramatic and very expensive
how long are you there?
the structural masonry work of your house will therefore only be accessible from the outside on 2 sides (2 sides), on the left side, I think it will not be a problem but on the back (south-east) which in addition is located deep below, this facade being overhanging in addition to being against the adjoining house makes me say that it will not be a cakewalk (it will not be a piece of cake as they say in France)
can you intervene on your house from inside the ruin which is glued to the left? If I understand correctly, it does not belong to you?
Your videos are cool, refreshing, inspiring and fun. You carry great energy and share your own philosophy of authentic and contagious positivity. Thank you for sharing all of the above. Congrats
It gives great pleasure that I have the courage to make it happen. Nothing is impossible. Bravo!
Another busy week, take super care! Laura 🐈🐈🐈
I can’t wait to see the end of the renovation 😊! I’m searching for something small to have in Portugal but not to far for Lisbon. Any suggestions?
Must be erva cidrera, the tea you’re drinking 🫖
Dreams do not come cheap or with out a lot of hard work, you my friend are on your way
This guy is just getting your money. I don’t see any progress. Thanks for wasting my time
Hey you need to stop taking breaks. Get a helmet and don't be afraid of getting dirty.
I couldn't identify the plant when you were picking the leaves, but the closeup in the pot looks like mint to me. But there are other herbs that look like mint, so hard to say!
You should maybe do an Ask Me Anything episode, and talk about yourself a little more. I'd ask questions like: Where are you originally from? Why Portugal as opposed to anywhere else? How long to you expect to take renovating the house before you can start living in it? And so on.
At least you got enough wood for barbecue for next 20 years..not sure about burning the paint.. release lead.
Mint leaves…..
Those beans are shot. There are saw Mills that can cut you new beams. I would not take the risk of re-using any materials.
At least you are using the pole.. better than your head… Man, so rotted. Nothing worth saving. Why Clean over and over again. Let it all drop then clean once.
I can only see this channel getting bigger as time goes by, keep up the good work
I subscribed because you asked 👍👍👍👍
THE MUSIC WAS PERFECT!
Wear eye protection and a mask!
The plant is mint. 🙂🌿
You have just started please be careful and you will make it a success
I love the YouTube videos it great fun
Dont speak, the dust will be full of nasty stuff. I hope you are using some PPE.
You will have a lot of fire wood, and hoping you can salvage some for use.
Ancient castles were plastered and whitewashed inside. Both for light reflection and to maintain a clean space. New whitewash every year.
On the question of painting the stones: in the oldest times, considering that the houses were made of stone, after they were built those who had more possessions (€€€€) plastered and painted the houses, it was a sign of capacity economic, many only came to paint their houses after the 25th of April with the end of Salazar's fascism.
You are truly amazing. An inspiration. I think I want to do the same thing in a remote village in the Alentejo. Good luck my friend.
Good for you♥️ I love your energy and your compassion for your Stone house you are making a Beautiful Home. 💝💝💝💝💝
