Now that we are sure we have our residency in Portugal the dream
of building a semi self-reliant life may be starting to become a reality.
We expect that ‘Mungo the Minibus’ will be our full time home for the next
year as we travel the UK and Europe, and whilst we work on our tiny house and land in Central Portugal.
Thank you so much for following our journey, love from Elaine and Darren.

  1. Aw – the relief and emotion were so palpable right through the screen 💖A huge Congratulation to you both and a Happy belated Birthday to Elaine from one mother to another (It's Mother's Day today in Sweden)💛💙, Katarina

  2. Lovely to hear that you were back in Portugal again and got your residency certificates and bank account sorted out!
Really looking forward to watching your progress on making your little house your Portuguese home over the next months.

  3. Llongyfarchiadau ( in the language of Heaven) many many congrats on your residency success. It is a wonderful feeling being accepted by a country you want make home. Happened when we got citizenship in New Zealand and just about to apply for permanent residency in Australia too. Having the correct paperwork is so important to give you security. Well done again Parabens. Couldn’t put the circumflex over the e to make it correct 🙄🙄🙄🙄.

  4. We loved your reaction about getting your residency!! Thanks once again for vloging a new chapter of your lives in Portugal. We can't wait too see the land and what the tiny home looks like. Cheers and stay safe.

  6. Congratulations. I slipped my Portuguese EU residency through just in time before the brexit cut-off in Sep 2020 with the idea of retiring in Portugal, but then my health and then my parents ill health has prevented me staying….so it is all a bit unclear where I stand and how it will end up. I watched your original videos….. I really wish you both well. You are both such down to earth pleasant people, I really really hope it all works out for you. All the best!

  7. Great Video! After my June trip to NY, Maine and Azores (Teceria Island, yes again this year), I'll be hitting that Patreon account of yours!à. So happy to see you in Portugal! Was suppose to see Céline tonite, I'll be in England in the Spr8ng!! If she's better, sure am worried! GOD BLESS!! 🙏🙏❤❤🇺🇸⛵🤙🇵🇹🇬🇧

  8. Congratulations on your residency! What a huge relief for you both. I am jealous of those roads. I live in Mexico where almost all the road are cobblestones (read cobblestones as rocks in dirt).

  9. SO happy for you both! We also know exactly what that feeling is you were trying to describe. We describe it as “having found our place”. It’s visual, audible, taste of the air, everything coming together to feel “just right”. So happy that your concerns about residency were eliminated, and you have made such a helpful contact at the bank! There are so many kind and lovely people in the world! You being some of them naturally attract more of the same types!!! Truly nice community you are building. Best Wishes and hugs from Northern California.

  10. So happy for you both. So much good news for you folks. Wonderful, you are taking time to enjoy your new home away from home. The scenery is lovely and the villages look so quaint.
