PORTO, PORTUGAL – Pastéis de nata? Bacalhau? Francesinha?? We couldn’t pronounce any of these before our first stop in Porto on a 2-week trip to Portugal. But after a few days in this small northern riverside city, we ate all of them and more.

2:30 – Caldo verde soup, meat & cheese board, and an affordable rose wine at Bacalhau

5:15 – Our hotel room at Linha 22 outside Clérigos Church

6:20 – Pastéis de nata (Portuguese egg tarts) and coffee/tea for a streetside breakfast at Nata Lisboa

7:14 – Tower climb and city view at Clérigos Church

9:05 – Francesinha egg and cheese open-faced sandwich at Café Santiago

11:24 – “Eggs Zenith” insane eggs benedict for brunch at Zenith

11:50 – Salt cod, octopus, tantarella and more small plates at an upscale hole-in-the-wall wine house near the river – Ode
