  1. Ridiculous. Those people put THEMSELVES in that shitty situation, they made a CHOICE, and then they blame Doja? bruh
I barely even know who tf doja is i just know these """fans""" are entitled as fuck

  2. Oh my god HI! Paraguayan here. Let me clear things up. First there are some things that are wrong. I see everyone in the comments say people were mad she didn’t come out. While probably there are some entitled people who could get mad bc of that, the general reason people were upset (at the beginning at least, before she made things worse) was because of how 1. she didn’t acknowledge arriving here when she had been /celebrating/ on twt arriving at all the other countries before this one, so fans here felt very alienated and discriminated, and 2. She expressed absolutely nothing regarding having her concert cancelled OR showed any concern regarding people in this country who were literally suffering from a storm and flood. Not a ‘stay safe’, not a ‘I hope you are okay.’ I myself am not and was never a fan of her, but I don’t think that’s relevant when judging the situation bc even as a non-fan, not acknowledging everything that was going is just,, kinda heartless. Now, there are several more reasons we got mad at her that were not explained here, but first, I want to clarify that her hotel didn’t get ‘leaked’ like that person said. It is literally the one & only hotel where celebrities can stay when coming here. Some outsiders seem to be severely underestimating how small this country is, but the reality is that the hotel she stayed at is literally the only place she could be at! So no it wasn’t that someone with ill intentions leaked the info, but rather smth that was always and IS always known whenever famous ppl visit the country! Secondly, I want to address other actions that where the main cause for anger. It kinda started when staff who worked at the hotel spoke up about her behaviour during her stay. While other celebrities like miley where nice and comforting to the fans, she organised a party at the rooftop where she kicked everyone she wanted out of and then proceeded to be really rude to the staff with comments like “don’t’ look at my face when talking to me”. Additionally, and the main thing that started it all is her LYING. She LIED about there not being anyone to wait for her. There were people! She just,, literally decided to lie and then play the victim? After also ignoring us during her entire time here? Like?? Bestie you literally ignored your fans all this time and now also decide to manipulate what really happened by straight out lying about facts just so you can paint yourself as the victim??? I- bro. Anyways, after that it only gets worse. Doja started liking tweets that were extremely discriminating against our country for being a 3rd world country (like that isn’t the result of military dictatorships financed by USA but ok), tweets like ‘why would Paraguayans attend a concert lol do they even have food to eat’. She of course removed the likes since then but we saw and we have screenshots, and it was /this/ plus her lying and attempt at manipulating the narrative what really got people here pissed! Not her coming out or not

TLDR: No ppl weren’t mad bc of her not coming out, the reasons ppl where mad where: 1. Her lack of concern towards fans’ safety. 2. Her rude attitude toward staff working for her. 3. Her decision to lie, continue to lie, and try to paint herself as a victim to push a narrative manipulated by her, and 4. How she liked tweets severely discriminating against Paraguayans for being a 3rd world country

  3. I'm sorry, I’m the kind of person that thinks artist deserve their own time and space however I'm reading a lot of comments here that I think they've only heard Doja's version or just don't have a full view of what happened, but people in Paraguay (and Latam in general) didn't get angry because they weren't willing to risk her life for her fans in a storm or because toxic fans feel they are entitled to the time of their favorite artist, but because after that even when the weather was chill (and also in the storm) her fans were waiting for her and she NEVER deigned to go out or say hello but then went to complain on twitter saying that NO ONE had waited for her, basically she tried to make an entire country look like liars. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Aside from the fact that she wasn't being asked to go out for a beer with every person there, he wasn't being asked to go by canoe or boat personally to sacrifice herself for each of her fans, it would have been enough just to go out and say hello from the window or putting a single twit or post greeting people and telling them better go and take shelter in their homes. But nop, she didn’t make any of that and then went to Twitter to lie about a whole country telling no one was there.

Asides from all that, there were a lot of other things going on (like the fact that she told the personal in her private party to NOT LOOK AT HER in the eyes, like, wtf?) and then, she just made the things worse with her attitude on Twitter, there was even a screenshot of her account that shared/liked a super xenophobic twit: “Right? These Paraguay people can’t even afford food for their kids, what businesses they have attending a concert? Love you” (I honestly hope this one is fake, but looking at her attitude I doubt it) but that added to everything else were the reasons why the vast majority of people got upset with her and started a cancellation. As I said before, I hope that ss was fake, but If it isn’t and she did it because she actually thinks like that then she deserves it, or even if it’s a “joke”, you know black mood, it was just the most foolish thing to share/like at that moment, like what did she think is gonna happen? Even if that was fake, with everything else and her poor behavior towards her fans people took it like real.

  4. Double standard. So she can be Racist and Classit against people in Paraguay, but she can't take a spoon of her own medicine?
And also she was on a private party at the hotel and that's why she never came outside and then asked the waiters not to "look her in the eyes"…I mean I suppose you can follow and empower whoever you want, but that donsen't make them good people.

  5. This is absolutely ridiculous 🤦
It’s a storm, you don’t go out in a middle of a storm to meet your idol. As shady as it is, you don’t do it because it’s common logic to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
Im not saying this as a Doja Cat fan, I’m saying this neutrally. Because apparently her Paraguayan fans stayed at her hotel in the rain because they wanted a photo with her? Now come on, are you actually seriously? Doja cat has nothing to be blamed for except for the Paraguayan decision to act on stupidity and absolute ridiculousness.

  6. Man, if this was on the US it would be a fucking different story
Fans waiting outside the artist hotel is fucking normal man, maybe is weird but in Hollywood they fucking make CELEBRITY HOUSE TOURS!!!
Also man Doja isn't a saint, of course that doesn't justify the slurs
But remember the Lorry Hill stuff? How she reacted on that live?
She has worked also with Dolce Gabbana
I fucking love her music but she is trying to make herself the victim in this situation
The problem isn't that she didn't want to go outside to say hi during a storm, the problem was the tweet that she made complaining about no one being outside her hotel when she was going to leave
And also the kinda immature respond

  7. I can't believe how disinformed and rude are being some of you with latin american people. Doja Cat was the one expecting his fans go to greet her in the middle of the storm and later playing the victim in Twitter, this it's insane and idk how disconnected of the world some of you are. Maybe this it's just a celebrity drama for you, but people die because of that flood in Asunción. If you american people don't know, just shut up.

  8. This honestly just sounds like people feeling entitled. Nobody owes you anything. Doja doesn't owe you a show, a greeting, a tweet, literally anything. Just like you don't owe any idol your time, money, or support. She didn't ASK you to risk your safety by standing outside her hotel in a storm. You did that yourself??? Like, she's a person. She can't cater to every single fan and their wants. I hate to use this phrase but seriously, manage your expectations.

  9. I don't understand the people who wait outside hotels of celebs then get angry when they don't acknowledge them. Do these people not see how creepy and entitled that is?

  10. we need to remember famous people are also PEOPLE. we can't expect of them everything all the time. which we do. they are no gods and they deserve their peace too. this is why a lot of people can't handle fame, like chill paraguay there is no law saying she has to go out and greet you in middle of a storm

  11. Even if there was no storm when they started gathering at her hotel that got leaked. Not by her. How entitled must you be to expect someone to come out when there's the forecast of a dangerous storm. Are you serious? People are so insane. While Europe is out here with the possible impending DOOM you're out there complaining a dangerous storm cancelled a concert? Bro, get a fucking grip.

  12. Entitlement at its finest "we put our lives at risk and you dont care". She cared. She looked for you when it was safe. You shouldn't have been there in the first place. She cancelled the show for YOUR safety and hers. Something that was probably difficult for her to do because she has such a large following and she loves her fans (citing the time when fans put a sunglasses filter on her while she was on a livestream and asked them to stop when she realised it cost her fans money to do it).

  13. I don't follow any of her stuff. But just imagine if someone was like "oh but I showed up at your hotel to have sex with you and you didnt even acknowledge me" (even though this hypothetical person never got permission to do that and just expected that outcome) it would be rediculous and everyone would be mad at that person. You can't just show up and demand attention, then promptly demonize that person for not giving what you wanted. They made a conscious CHOICE to go out in that storm. Doja (as far as i know) did not ask for them to do that, nor did she condone it. In fact, I would expect a publicist to discourage her from acknowledging that type of behavior bc then more people are likely to risk their lives just for a little attention. REdiculous and shouldn't even be an issue, but people like to be pieces of shit ig…

  14. I think Pewdiepie sum up this perfectly 5-6 years ago.
"I love meeting you bros, it's amazing experiences, but if you do come to my house, I will not greet you and I will not take picture with you. Just because you found my address, doesn't mean you get an invitation to come over"

  15. Pretty disappointed the Paraguayan perspective is continuing to get erased.
    1) when a celebrity goes to different regions to perform, why is it on the people of that country to change their cultural ways and not on the celebrity or their team to be aware of the difference and either let people know they won't be participating or tell fans when to expect them? While I wouldn't do it myself, I completely understand why Paraguayans didn't think it was weird to greet her outside her hotel – that's what happens when there's a rare appearance by a celebrity in an often overlooked country. The culture is different. They're not US American.
    2) racist attacks on her are not okay, point blank.
    3) xenophobic comments about how Paraguay doesn't matter and how Paraguayans needed to bow down to the cultural expectations of a non-Paraguayan celebrity are at best incorrect and at worst insensitive and dismissive of many cultures around the world who do the same thing
    4) People lost their lives in that storm. Doja made it all about herself. She tweeted out that no one was outside her hotel – fine, maybe she didn't go out when they were there, but to expect them to show up after a storm with no other (from what I saw) announcements or acknowledgments of the situation was mishandled.
    5) she allegedly treated staff and partygoers poorly and had a big ego the whole time, not letting people look her in the eye. That's gross.
Aside from the racial attacks, Doja isn't a victim here. Y'all are acting like her perspective and the perspectives of westerners are the only valid ones. It's on the celebrity and their team to be culturally aware and empathetic during these kinds of situations. If she's not in the headspace to handle her social media, someone else should've been hired to do so. It seems she's not capable of maintaining a positive relationship with fans who aren't willing to constantly take her side. Y'all treating her like she can't have completely fucked up this situation and others in the past are the ones treating her like a deity. Lol. Grow up.

  16. Wow the entitlement. This is actually an issue with broadway too. Actresses and actors can come out after a show to greet the fans but it’s not mandatory. There have been instances where people lost their shit when an actor or actress didn’t come out. But as a performer my self, holy fuck we don’t owe you shit. Performing is TIRING and draining as fuck as much fun as it is. There was a huge storm, it got canceled, move the fuck on. You can’t stand out in a storm in a place you’re not supposed to be and then pull the “we risked our lives for you” card. That was your choice full stop. I think doja has done some not so great things worth calling out but this is… this is not her fault, the entitlement from those people is off the charts. I’d be just as pissed if I were her too. But also imma make music even if I have no fans (like currently) so before anyone goes “your fans make you” honestly that’s not even true. The opportunity is what makes you. Always be gracious sure, but I don’t blame anyone for standing up for themselves in a situation like this.

  17. Simple as this: Let fans know you've cancelled the show on Twitter, Insta, whatever. Let them know you hope they're all safe.
As a fan: DON'T WAIT OUTSIDE OF PEOPLE'S EFFIN HOTELS EVERRRRR, especially not in a storm. You're idiots if you do that. Go home, geez.
Common sense did not prevail in this situation lol, what the heck is wrong with people.

  18. I was a flight attendant. Lightening hits planes a LOT. It's not usually an issue. One of the most beautiful things you can see is st elmos fire across the flight deck window. Stunning. I flew like 200 times a year, only once had to come back to an airport to land because of a bird strike (That's when birds get sucked into the engine and break the engine. even with something like that, often)

  19. They shouldn't have waited in the storm, how stupid is that? No famous person is worth of endgering your health, if they are stupid enough to not get it, they have a problem and they kinda deserved it tbh.

  20. These people are crazy! They chose to wait outside her hotel which like ew don’t do that?? That’s creepy?? And then they are upset when she doesn’t like treat them like martyrs. Her tweet comes off sarcastic to me. Celebrities owe you nothing other than what you pay for and if that gets canceled suck it up

  21. Celebrities aren't obligated to do anything for their fans. That type of thought process needs to be addressed and stopped. Also management was 100% the reason she didn't go out for her safety. A bunch of "fans" stalk her to her private hotel and that isn't questioned at all?

Who cares if you stood in the rain? Who cares she didn't write a post for you? What did you 'go through'? They did it to themselves. Fans can be so entirely toxic and overly entitled it's embarrassing. Doja Cat doesn't owe you shit. These brats are entitled because they didn't get their way. GTFO.

  22. It’s not like when the show was cancelled she tweeted out for everyone to come to her hotel for a meet and greet. They weren’t even supposed to know the hotel she was staying at! Fans wait outside hotels, homes, backstage doors all the time for a chance to meet their idol, but when you do that you run the chance that you may not see them! This was their choice, she didn’t ask them to come there! I’ve waited outside many backstage doors at Broadway shows, in all kinds of weather, for a chance to meet the stars. You know how many times I’ve actually gotten to meet them? Once. Do I blame the performers for that? NO! It was my choice to stand out there and wait, and I was well aware that it may not work. They chose to stand out there in the storm knowing full well they didn’t have any kind of pass or any entitlement to her time. They knew there was a storm and chose to stand out in it anyway, that’s on them, not her. I’m not a Doja Cat fan, but I don’t think she did anything wrong here.

  23. It's my first time watching you, but I'm sure I'll come back. I love how you calmly talk about what's going on from everyone's perspective. Most commentary channels make joke out of people they're talking about, but not you. Amazing work, sound and video are very pleasing too 😀

  24. I don't have a Twitter, been debating if I should but I keep seeing stuff like this LOL. Twitter is the homepage of entitlement.

Doja Cat: Not The Asshole. First off, if you use slurs, even when upset, your opinions are immediately invalidated. A storm that was bad enough to cancel a show, yet they expect her to go out in it and placate fans in an open, very public place that haven't been screened for crazies and checked for weapons? Fucking entitled wanting her to put her life and well-being at risk for their entertainment. They chose to go out in that, she didn't, and wouldn't get paid for it either (people forget that's still a job and expect people to debase themselves and ignore their own needs just because they perform for a living/are more well-off). John Lennon, Selena, celebrities have been injured or murdered by fans while doing less, some like Christina Grimmie were even harmed during actual sanctioned fan meets. Lightning can and often does spread if surfaces are wet, plus storms can and do take out entire established trees. Kicker is she did what they asked after she saw the complaints, she listened to her fans and still got crucified for it.

Now it probably would have smoothed some feathers if she or her manager would've put out a statement on her page about cancelling and regrets and well-wishes for safety, and I'm sure they gave refunds. She was also sheltering in that storm, I can't imagine any hotel besides gold-plated trillionaire bait in Dubai would be completely insulated from weather like that…

I haven't really listened to her music, but I honestly hope she's able to find other things in her life to make her happy, she doesn't need all this shit. Most artists/celebrities don't.
