Western Europe has been hit by a huge dust cloud, originating from the Sahara desert in Africa, and blowing Northwards across the Mediterranean and into Portugal, Spain, France and the UK.
It turned the skies orange and was quite a sight, but made working outside on the farm hard as the fine dust particles made breathing a difficult.
In this episode Gina gets together with some of her friends to go on a silver jewellery making course and we give the farm a good old tidy up!
We are Ken & Gina, and we left the UK in 2019 in search of a simpler life, away from our office jobs, and the hustle and bustle of the big city. We sold our house, left the UK, and left the Rat race behind us, to move to Portugal and buy a farm. We found an amazing farm in Castelo Branco, Central Portugal where we have lived for the last two and a half years. We make these videos for our friends and family to keep up with whatās going on in our new lives and as a record to look back on one day so see how far we have come. We are always amazed when we see how many people have been watching, following, and subscribing to our vlogs. Thanks for tuning in š

What a wonderful suprise, we were watching and realised that 3 of our "famous" Portugal woman, (Gina, Bee, Clarissa) who we have been watching for the last 2 years were at my lovely sisters silver workshop. š„° We are over in May to do the same. Can't wait. All your finished silver was fabulous, well done. šš
I was there in Portugal when that dust came in and you won't believe the difference in the photo's that I took, during and after that dust…..

Thank you very enjoyable…
Forgot to ask you…how bad are the CICADAS (cigarras) and CRICKETS (grilos) in rural Portugal with their annoying singing that reaches 120dB? Any particular time of the year and time of the day?
any plan in the future for ABNB?

Hi Ken and Ginny glad to know Mimosa is well. You 2 are such great pet owners! Love the Lady garden every farm wife deserves her bit of pretty. Ken I also love cutting grass it is very good for me time, my hubbie is too busy on the farm.
A friend gave me a caricature of me cutting grass with scissors-LOL
So very glad that Miss Mimosa is feeling better. Farm looking great and I like the names of the flowers in the Lady Garden, so very technically perfect. Best wishes from Miami.
So wonderful that Mimo is much better and full of beans, bless her cutie self. Hope the experience of those bugs are forever etched in her memory & wisdom, thank Heaven you all acted quickly. Eduardo is getting so big! Always good to see Dogdog and Catcat š. Glad you had such an excellent outing with friends, Gina š¤. Your lawn trim is very eye pleasing. Your clearer skies and the lady garden looks good šš¼. Chores that also turn out to be therapeutic are good for the soul š. Ate logo šš¼
When I opened up the windows on Tuesday morning and saw that "red" light outside, I immediately knew something was not right. All the lights in my house are LED (also inside my car) and during those "dusty" days I had to constantly adjust my eyesight whenever I came from the "red" outside. It felt like we were in another planet, one with a red atmosphere.
Great video keep it up.
