I use to like this podcast, but this episode comes off less like snarky and edgy and you know nihilistic against the powers that be and more we're mad that we're wrong so it's America's fault that Russia is invading Ukraine. NATO isn't asking countries to join countries are asking NATO if they can join because the alternative is they're getting attacked and taken over by Russia. Chechnya and Georgia are both victims to Russian aggression and expansionism Georgia specifically seeking NATO for aid when they saw the way the dice was falling. It's a really bad take it's Russian propaganda and I'm honestly sick of it. Russia did this twice before the exact same way both times and it was very obviously what he was setting up to do in Ukraine. Let's think about this in the hypothetical if Putin had been successful blitzkrieg Ukraine and conquered the portions of the country he had wanted in 24 hours the sanctions would have been incredibly light Europe would have forgotten about it in a week maybe two and we'd be talking about Donald Trump again. For for him that looked like something he can feasibly pull off cuz he done it in Georgia created in it a contested territory leaving it open for future attacks and making it impossible for them to join NATO.
