I spent my last 3 days of my Portugal exploratory trip in Lisbon. I’m generally not a fan of large cities, however, I absolutely enjoyed my time in Lisbon. Before arriving in Portugal, my family and I conducted extensive research on life in Lisbon, some of which I’ve included in this video. Hopefully people find this video helpful if they are considering Lisbon as a vacation spot or a place to live.
Background of why I’m in Portugal: My family and I have been researching a move to Portugal for over a year. However, there is only so much value that research can do. We needed first hand experience. Therefore, my family sent me on a mission to explore Portugal and determine whether it’s a place we could permanently relocate from the U.S. and call it home. Hopefully, these series of videos are helpful to people.

Right on spot on the negatives: You don't need a car in Lisbon, and driving in Lisbon is not fun. Housing has gotten so expensive. But what about Mafra, Torres Vedras, or Caldas da Rainha?
Have you found your perfect place yet? I don't think the neighborhoods you visited are the best for families to live at all. You should have looked at Saldanha, Arroios, Areeiro, Estrela, Benfica, Alcântara, Santos, Campolide, Campo Pequeno, Alameda….Worst neighborhoods for families with kids: Baixa, Alfama, Bairro Alto, Príncipe Real (these areas tend to be louder and full of tourists).
Lol @ Abort Mission 🔴. So where did you decide or where are you leaning towards? I’m scouting right now and Love Salir do Porto and Saõ Martinho. Caldas has a lot going on from a practicality standpoint too.
