I think Amelia may have got the Portuguese "silent treatment" at the bifana's trailer. Silent treatment is a known passive resistance move the Portuguese have created in centuries when dealing with oppressive invaders, arrogant landlords, etc. It's not pretty. Not even fair. But if you are perceived as hostile you may be heading to a "silent treatment session".
Next time, and I say this as a Sporting fan, you may think twice before disparaging a club like Sporting, the sheer passion of standing by your team following a 19+19 period without league titles. A club that much more than its rivals likes to play clean. It takes some time to learn how the soccer world operates here. It's not pretty. It involves corruption and all sorts of dirty tricks. Anyway, every time I go the Stadium I always see hundreds of foreigners fans of Sporting. I guess You cant be perfect. 🙂
