We just returned from 10 days in Lisbon and Porto, our first visit to Portugal after watching your content and that of other expats all through the pandemic. I was immediately struck by the diversity and outright warmth of the people, regardless of original nationality–as we met plenty of folks who were not native Portuguese who ran shops in Porto. Thus it was not surprising to see that same diversity among the students at BGA. Anyone we met under 40 had a remarkable command of fully idiomatic English, which they all attributed to American television. I wasn't entirely sure that was a good thing, as I so dearly hope that they continue to retain their unique identity.
