ÉVORA, PORTUGAL After our wonderful week in TOMAR, we headed to Évora for 5 days. The weather was incredibly hot when we were there in May 2022, but it was cold and windy on this, our first day 🤣
In this FIRST IMPRESSIONS ÉVORA video we show:
Temple of Diana, more accurately known as the Temple of Evora
Jardim de Diana
Front of the Sé of Evora, and the entry fee
Delicious Sushi buffet
and of course there are plenty of menu shots!
We hope you enjoy this first Evora video, and there will be three more to come!

very enjoyable video to watch, thank you! 😄
“This hostel was excellent in so many ways, especially the helpfulness of the staff and the comfortable room. The females' bathroom was very well fitted out. Breakfast was simple but good.” Good review of the hostel Mandy. Wondered if there were any double rooms on the ground floor? Palacio de Dom Manuel
1495- 1521. Known as the Royal Palace of S Francisco because occupied the former vegetable garden of the Convento de S. Francisco. Only Ladies’ Gallery, remains built by D Manuel I. It was built first as a convent in the 13th century and then transformed into a royal residence in the 14th century. Vasco de Gama had audiences with the king here. 'What a lovely bandstand.
Another awesome video, thank you so much!! That Japanese restaurant looks amazing. Sushi AND Teppanyaki. What a treat. Love the Roman temple. That was so cool. It's always so mindblowing when you think about how old these structures are and they are still standing. Definitely have to get over to Evora. Can't wait for the next video!!
Sushi in Portugal? I guess its the same as Chinese food in Greece. It looked great!!! Great video.
Thank you for touring Evora. It is a beautiful city. Mandy and Lee did a good plowing through the large tourist crowd. I will check out the all you can sushi when we return next year. This is another fun and informative video.
Another great video! Looks like another beautiful Portuguese town.
Just one plate would do the two of us. I did not know about the park. Must add it to my notes. Looking forward to future episodes. It is a good thing that Churches have started to charge entrance fees. If one goes into a museum or art gallery one expects to pay a fee. The Churches are architectural, historical art galleries and people should pay to go inside and gawk.
Thanks for the correct pronunciation of Evora. If you like ruins you should see Paestum and Segresta and Agrigento in Sicily.
Let me add a place to the must visit list: Fábrica dos Gelados, near Praça do Giraldo. These guys produce the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. The flavours on offer are unique! Dom Rodrigo is my favourite. It’s a must stop place.
Estou conhecendo algo que nunca tinha visto, parabéns.
Loved your video, we are booked to go to Portugal in April to do a Camino from the Algarve to Evora then spend a week in
Lisbon before returning home.
Evora! Thank you so much for this slice of life video. Looks wonderful…another spot to add to the wishlist.
Trabalhei e estudei na universidade de Évora. Moro na quinta da Vista Alegre. Vale a pena conhecerem.
Venham conhecer Évora.
The sculpture at Jardim de Diana is called "The Kiss".
I've studied in Évora over twenty years ago. It's definitely my favourite portuguese city. I love each stone, street, sound, corner and welcoming people. I'm glad you've enjoyed this wonderful portuguese gem.
It's actually not the "temple of Diana", as it was never proved to be dedicated do the goddess Diana, it's called, templo romano, or Roman temple.
The 3.50EU would have been worth it to see the chapel of bones. Go see the stone circles, older than stone henge and the egyptian pyramids, just outside of the east side of the city.
Always enjoy yall's videos – Fortunately to have found each other – ENjoy life
7:23 "the kiss" is the name of the sculpture
