Family FUN in Central Portugal 🐟🌊🌞🇵🇹 | PORTUGAL FARM LIFE S4-E17

Gina’s Dad visited us in Portugal this week and saw our farm for the first time. In today’s episode we take him to see the Castelo Novo River Beach, and the Castelo Novo Castle, followed by an awesome Wagyu Beef steak lunch at AkaSushi resuarant in Castelo Branco. I also go for an underwater adventure in the local river and capture some relaxing underwater scenes. Hope you enjoy 🙂

We are Ken & Gina, and we left the UK in 2019 in search of a simpler life, away from our office jobs, and the hustle and bustle of the big city. We sold our house, left the UK, and left the Rat race behind us, to move to Portugal and buy a semi off grid farm. We bought an amazing property in Castelo Branco, Central Portugal where we have lived for the last two and a half years.

We make these videos for our friends and family to keep up with what’s going on in our new lives and as a record to look back on one day so see how far we have come. We are always amazed when we see how many new people have been watching, following, and subscribing to our vlogs. Thanks for tuning in and coming along for the ride 😊

  1. I've just stumbled upon your channel and have been binge watching some of your episodes – you guys convey a sense of fulfillment and genuine tranquility that many could only dream of, and I hope to reach that one day! That's the magic of living in the countryside in Portugal.

You should visit our beautiful district of Portalegre, in the Alentejo region. From the calm city to the gorgeous historic towns around it, not to mention our lovely natural park in Serra de São Mamede, we have lots to offer and are just a few minutes away from Castelo Branco! On the way here, you should definitely stop by Vila Velha de Ródão (still in the Castelo Branco district) and walk the Barca d'Amieira trail in the municipality of Nisa. If natural landscape and history is your thing, you won't regret it!

Kind regards and keep up the great content!

  2. Licor Beirão is my absolute favourite particularly as a night cap. We have a Portuguese shop here in Suffolk so its readily available. I'll definitely be trying Akasushi when we visit Castello Branco in the summer. Is your local shop now fully stocked with your olive oil? I wasn't going to come  down to Soalheira but if its still available at your shop, I will do

  3. Thank you for another great video! I arrived in Castelo Branco yesterday ready to buy our farm in Lardosa tomorrow. Aka Sushi is where I will go to celebrate our purchase tomorrow. I will tell them Ken and Gina sent me!

  4. Ken, amazing video. As a proud Portuguese, even I am astounded by the kindness of people like Luís, and the simple beauty and tranquility of our land. I am in the Lorvão area for 5 days as I write this, so not too far, and I had never been here before. The beauty of the Mondego River valley is stunning. Thank you for picking our little country to live in and show case. Hugs to both! 🤗🙌❤️🇵🇹❤️

  5. Wow, Ben is in CP at the right time, you had the most gorgeous day and beautiful views from Castelo Novo!

You must get a customer loyalty punch card from AkaSushi! 😁👍🏼 Oo, i'd like what Ben had — the braised beef, those veg, the chips 🤤.

The river beach segment was filmed so well that it's like i was there! V refreshing!!

The map at 13:14 gave me an idea: Now that Frankie on The Road and also Luke and Sarah's Off Grid Life have e-bikes, for the next meet & greet you lovely people must arrange an e-bike "Tour do Tubers" as i spied your respective towns (yours, Quinta Font da Pipa's, FarmerForFun's, Project Portugal's)… Frankie On The Road would be just off-map, as i imagine Cindy Vine, Indie Projects, and The Portugal Project, etc, are. At the last meet up, Indigo Escape came over, too. And Solo50Plus seems sporty spice, maybe Luise'd join in.

Bikers could stop to say hello at other tubers' farms along the tour. And any who must take turns to use their ebike-in-common might follow in a designated support vehicles (stocked with cold bevvies, energy snacks, air pump, tool kit, 1st aid kit) then drive ahead to the spot where co-bikers switch with their partners. Lunch at a river beach… churrasco at the end point… whaddya think? I'm excited imagining it 😄.

  6. Ola’Ken it never gets old thank you for showing us around need to start your tour guide service Thank you for letting us see Portugal through your eyes and walk by your side Cheers mate🍻🍻🍻👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

  7. Great vlog Ken, again! I for one enjoy it so much when you guys are out and about…such a stunning country, Castelo Novo looked

    Hugs from 🇨🇦
