Looking for a homestead in the Portuguese countryside? This cozy group of buildings from houses to ruins is situated on the top of a green hill in the countryside of central Portugal. We bought it just over half a year ago to start a homestead ourselves. It is a secluded place, green, perfect for farm animals and with fertile land full of walnut trees, olive trees and many different fruit trees like: oranges, apples, plums, pears, kaki’s, figs and cherries. There is water and electricity from the main, but there is also the possibility to be self-sufficient as there is a 65m deep borehole with pump, a well and a big water tank. The bunch of houses exists of: -5 staples for animals of which 3 have a new roof -a house to live in -a house used for storage of food and wine -multiple ruins From the outside it is hard to see how much is possible in the inside. I was positively surprised when I first entered the houses! A few months ago the roofs of the house to live in and of 3 of the staples have been replaced and we have started to renovate the inside of the house. Because of a sudden change of plans we unfortunately have to quickly say goodbye to this beautiful place, that’s why the favorable price. The farm is situated 20 minutes north of Tomar; a beautiful historical Templar city with castle, shops and cozy restaurants. There is a lot to tell about this property but best is to just come by to have a look yourselves when this type of life calls your attention!
