Double wall sucks!!! So bad!!! It rots fast, it's 5x the cost!! It will not connect to single wall, without a 50 to 80 dollar adapter .. My god, I will never use that garbage ever again!!! My stove goes horizontally through the wall I use cob around the pipe and a freestanding up pipe. I have not had a chimney fire, but if I did, I could drop the chimney on the ground in 20 seconds ( if it even mattered nothing near it can burn).. i also clean it once a month, cuz it's easily done from the ground. And 20buck will replace any questionable piece.

We have 2 woodburning stoves. One in the house and one in the garage. We get free wood from nephew who works for tree service. Lucky us! Electric bill in Jan was $22.

I love your setup. I'm surprised you don't use a stove pipe damper.
I grew up in Montana and we heated our place primarily with the wood stove. We tried upgrading our old stove to one of those new fancy ones with the heat plate on the top but had major silt build up problems in the pipe. We never had problems with the old one even with green cut pine.
We removed the dumb heat plate and put the old stove pipe damper back in. Silt problems went away.

I've had a combustion fireplace for 6 years & I never had it cleaned nor did I clean it. Why? Because I paid for proper seasoned redwood & I made sure to burn my fireplace hot most times. I never burnt pine either. I could tell if there was a creosote build up as the fire wouldn't catch quickly. A quick tap on the flu in different places would quickly dislodge chunks which I could then clean out of my fireplace.

My brothers and I built fireplaces all over the state of Missouri when I was young, I could build a smaller one that would be more than enough to heat a small house. My son and I both have years of experience in various areas of construction, between us, we could build something solid and comfortable. Have to clean the chimney frequently but that's just part of it. Dang algorithm!! I have to re-subscribe again…

I got my Woodstove from bartering now having it installed the piping and labor was $2700😩 and that was in may I'm sure it's gone way up , we usually use just oil to heat a tank holds 275 gallons and oil is 5 a gallon 😩😩😩 this winter is going to be so tough on everyone to try and keep their homes warm and lights on while paying their mortgages ….. Build back better is a fail…

Germany is in a deep energy supply crisis because of its absurd dependency on Russian Gas and nonsensical shutdown of Nuclear Power Plants.
Several major corporations have proposed converting their facilities to be coal fired in case the gas supply is rationed which may very well happen.

Its funny how the Eastern European countries of which some have land borders to Russia are not facing problems that bad because they cut ties with Russia the second the Soviet Union collapsed. They are not buying any Russian Gas, Coal or Oil.

I wish every City here had their own Nuclear Reactor or Fusion Reactor to have a localized unlimited supply of power and district heating.

For retro installation of a wood stove there was a flexible stainless steel chimney liner you run down the chimney to the stive. This may still be on the market.
