It actually worked out that we ended up in Pot 4. If we had taken Tunisia's place in Pot 3, we would be in Group G w/ France, Denmark and Peru.

Maybe the Democrat Open Border policy will continue to help USA and Canada improve in soccer. Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, and Panama might want to think about how to run their countries better so they can keep talent and have a better chance at the World Cup again.

Finally, Canada made it to the World Cup…Canadians don't truly understand just how massive this competition is. Canadians love the Olympics but hate to tell you that the Olympics is nothing more than a glorified school sports day. With so many immigrants in Canada, you would think Canada would qualify more frequently.

Overall I think the draw is decent. At least we didn't get a group of death. I think we have a shot at 2nd in the group. Main thing is we made our first World Cup since 1986. Hopefully we have a performance we can continue to build on in 2026.

My flaming hot take:
We'll end up with 1-2 points, but score a goal every game. IMO that should be considered a successful tournament, let's be realistic here.
Belgium's defense isn't that great anymore, esp since Toby and Jan have gotten older while Kompany retired. Same with Croatia. Their midfielders will absolutely dominate us, but with Adekugbe/Davies/Laryea/Buchanan running down the wings, we'll get our chances on the break.

Belgium & Croatia are a bit older & play a very aggressive game, which suits our counter punch style very well.
I am pleased that Canada plays Belgium 1st as it will make it easier to surprise them.
If somehow we get past the 1st round, we unfotunately play group E, most likely Spain & Germany. Still, it is all good news!

Mexico has made it to the round of 8 two times, 1970 and 1986 both as host, Cuba once as well in 1938, but only the US has played a semifinal in the first world cup 1930, ended up 3rd overall.

A 1-1-1 record with a positive goal difference could be enough to get a knockout match. We need a result against either Belgium or Croatia. Will be tough.

We can do it. Croatia is definitely a tough team, and did go to the final last WC but they're an older/slower team now and Milan knows their style well. I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to goal differential. Although Morocco will have a climate advantage since it's likely to be +35C every GD day.
