  1. Luuuuke! where are you?! YOU GOT POINTS!!!! hahaha Finally!!! So happy for you😂
You should livestream the show next year! buuuut –
I'm from Sweden and I really want to go see the final live next year… aaagh
    this is so exciting!!!

UK is currently at 277 points and Sweden is at 258!

    ciao 😘

  2. So sad for Austria, once again my winner of the whole contest doesn't qualify! (Fyi, ALbina was my winner last year and Ester Peony was my winner in 2019)
I'm also a bit sad for Albania, but I was slightly expecting it because I don't think the performance was the best
I'm so pleased for Portugal, Armenia and Lithuania! I thought I would only get 1 or 2 of them – not all 3
I'm quite sad for Latvia and Croatia, I would've swapped them for Moldova and Switzerland (which I did not need in the final)

  3. So I thought Albania,Austria,Norway,Greece,Ukraine,The netherlands and Portugal were sure qualifiers, and that Moldova,Latvia and Lithuania (my favorite song this year) would also sneak through, but I did think that armenia could pull through. So when I saw switzerland, followed by armenia and then iceland I thought my favorite was not gonna qualify, until she did right after. In the end I was really shocked Austria and Albania didnt qualify and happy that Lithuania got through.

  4. Great reactions, Luke 😂

Me and my mum predicted 8/10 as well and hadn’t thought Switzerland and Iceland would make it either – I thought they might be too quiet. It’ll be interesting to see who was close to making it (Latvia or Albania, perhaps?) and who just got in (Switzerland or Iceland??) 🤓

I get winner vibes from Greece too! My friend and family didn’t so it’s good to hear it’s not just me 🤩

  5. Unfortunately we all know whos gonna win ukrainie and why i mean there is no doubts and i hate it everyone will vote fot the mercy etc and the song is average into trashy

  6. So glad Moldova got through
( my favourite). Wasn't surprised that Latvia didn't make it ( it's in my bottom 5 alongside Slovenia and Lithuania so it was a slow start to the semi final to me.) But I can see the running order helped Lithuania, after 2 up beat chaotic songs it was classy.( still not the type of song I listen to but I can see it would appeal to others).
Iceland pleasantly surprised me. Very atmospheric Wasn't on my radar before.

  7. Sorry but this this is just my opinion this is fuking joke norway moldova really even portugal ? Do we just care about words lyrics or just costumes omg ceoatia was lovely romantic nothing spectacular and that was the beauty of it denmark bulgaria the girl who sing in white box forgot the country but instead iceland i felt like im gonna fall asleep or portugal joke who voted for them robots in fact the only one from the first 10 are swiss to win or armenia otherwise if norway or moldova win im gonna believe in ghosts

  8. I am Norwegian, and a close friend of me are from Icland. He lives in USA and has for a few years. Even tho, we always watch eurovision together, in different parts of the world.
We always have our favorites, but still, there is a small contest between us on which of our contries does the best in the contest (even if we might not like the song).
As I watched this video I could not help stop when you came to Island, I played it back, and filmed a snap of your reaction and sent it to him. Then I kept on watching and you came to Norway. I laughed so hard that I almost could not breath. Then I sent him a clip of the norwegian response. He is not happy. mohahaha

  9. Thank you Luke for an amazing ESC 2022 First Semi Final review / reaction video. Evidently you must have filmed your predictions after the last song was performed (in other words whilst the voting lines were open), and the rest of it whilst the qualifiers were announced. Here are two lists I made after the last song was performed last night (Tuesday 10 May 2022):

My Preferences (based solely on all of ESC 2022 First Semi-Final performances)

Definitely want to qualify: Switzerland, Netherlands, Moldova, Portugal, Croatia, Iceland, Greece, Armenia.

Wouldn't mind qualifying: Lithuania, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Denmark.

Prefer not to qualify: Albania, Ukraine, Austria, Norway.

Definitely don't want to qualify: Latvia.

So these are the ones I personally wanted to see Saturday night: Switzerland, Netherlands, Moldova, Portugal, Croatia, Iceland, Greece, Armenia, plus two of Lithuania, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Denmark.

My Qualification Predictions (based solely on all of ESC 2022 First Semi-Final performances)

    Almost certain qualifiers: Ukraine, Greece.

Likely qualifiers: Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Armenia.

May qualify: Albania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Croatia, Denmark.

Highly unlikely to qualify: Lithuania, Slovenia, Portugal, Iceland.

Notice the difference between the two. There were some songs which I most wanted, e.g. Portugal, Iceland, but which I thought would struggle to qualify, whereas there were some which I didn't want, but I was convinced they'd qualify, e.g. Austria, Norway. I thought Latvia might just slip through, because some might have wanted to hear Citi Zēni get their veganism message across again in the Grand Final, but they didn't qualify.

I've written more about the ESC 2022 First Semi-Final here:
    https://nemesis-nick.blogspot.com/2022/05/eurovision-song-contest-2022-first-semi.html

  10. My opinions of SF1 summarized:

    Most surprising performance: Ukraine
    Least surprising performance: Denmark

    Most favorite performance: Latvia
    Most dissapointing performance: Croatia

    Most surprising qualifier: Iceland
    Least surprising qualifier: Norway

    Most surprising non-qualifier: Latvia
    Least surprising non-qualifier: Denmark

    Most favorite qualifier: Norway
    Least favorite qualifier: Moldova

Biggest climbers: Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Ukraine

This here was the first time I watched Eurovision live and it was blissful! Honestly, I don't need more Eurovision, that was good enough!

  11. I Got 7/10
I thought Latvia, Albania and Denmark would Go through over Switzerland, Lithuania and Iceland
Gonna be team Lithuania (And Serbia if she makes it🤞) At the Grand finale!

  12. I got 8/10… Whiffed on Switzerland and Moldova making it (I had Albania and Latvia going instead.) A state of euphoria was had when Iceland qualified, as they sent my favorite song this year, so thank you Europe for supporting them. Absolutely gutted for Latvia, who should've made it in over Switzerland.

  13. I personall do not really predict, who will advance prior to the respective semi-final, but of course I had my personal semi-1-Top-10:
Netherlands, Austria, Ukraine, Greece, Portugal, Armenia, Norway, Latvia, Slovenia and Lithuania

Then I watched the performances and I was very sad, even though it was to expected, that Austria couldn't deliver. I also didn't like Moldova's revamp at all. Albania and Latvia were struggling with technical problems, it seemed (those loud steam fountains in Albania's case, and the weird camera cuts at Latvia)? In the end I guessed the following to go through based on their performance, my family's reaction and my personal taste:
Latvia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Bulgaria (Yes, I know), Netherlands, Portugal, Iceland, Greece, Norway, Armenia

7/10 were right, really shocked Switzerland got through, other than that no major surprises.
