After having been let down by my first builder this week I finally have a builder starting work on my home in Portugal in a small village close to Viera de Leiria, on the west coast of Portugal.
It’s been a long wait and the winter rain has now arrived in Portugal so getting the work done on the roof to prevent the rain from destroying the beams is paramount as is putting in drainage to direct the rain away from the house to prevent any further dampness entering the house.

Good luck with Rui, hopefully your roof will be sorted very soon. It's great to see things starting to happen for you in the house.
There are lots of recipes online for the fruit of the strawberry tree, looks like it'd be worth picking some next time you walk in the woods.
Welcome to Portugal. From a Portuguese girl living in the UK at the moment 🥰❤
Hi Susie. We are not far from you (near Porto de Mos) we are using a builder who is an architect with a construction company too, and even better speaks perfect English (from America). But like yourself things do take time. It will be all worth it in the end.
HELLO SUSIE…THE PLACE IS LOOKING SO MUCH BETTER WITH PAINT…LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT VIDEOS…ALL THE BEST…🙏;)
Don't buy handtools, fastenings and fixings, electrical items from chinese shops….they are very poor quality and some electrical items can be a fire risk. Stick to craft items
My worst buy were sandals where the sole fell off 3 hours later!
be weary when finding a spade…maybe someone was buried nearby, lol.
