Looking good! This does give me bad flashbacks of when we built our house. Hate painting. 😩
I find when using a roller while your washing your hands at the end if you put your glasses in a bowl of soapie water when your hands are done you only need to use tissue to wipe the paint off the glasses
have you ever used the 1 inch rollers for cutting in around all the corners and the ceiling. Its a great time saver and it puts paint in the corners and on the wall at thesame time. Great job AL and GEENA
All I can say is WOW‼️look at you. Almost finished with the walls. Great job you two!❤️
I rather see more of goats than watch this stuff,, you never show them much and that's why I subscribed to this channel is to see the goats.
Good morning. the kilz primer/sealer is made thick like that at the factory. it works Realy Good at sealing. i only put on one coat of the kilz. your Home is looking Awesome! 🙂
Do you know how to do anything? You talk the talk of knowledge but then give video evidence that you don't over and over. Your goal should have been to get a single thick coat on with a heavy nap roller, and not empty the roller by pressing it and running it till dry. The primer is a primer, not paint. Two coats to get it to look painted should not be the goal. (YOU might want to use two or more coats if you are trying to change the color of a wall from a dark color to a light.) But for sheet rock you are wasting your time and money. If you are getting speckled, you are doing it wrong.
Like your roller covers, you can also put your roller trays with paint in them into a plastic grocery bag over night to prevent them from drying out. That way you do not have to empty them back into the paint bucket each day.
God has blessed you…I'm happy for you guys. Keep up the good work and do what's good for you. Love you guys
Get a airless paint sprayer that sucks the paint out of a 5 gallon bucket. Protect what you don't want painted And it would take you no more than about to fully the entire upstairs.
PVA priming is very underwhelming. The only upside is it’s not sanding. First time I did it I think I put 4 coats on, not realizing the difference of regular paint. I forgot about the sliminess.
nothing like watching paint dry!!! lol
Guys I love that you are building an off-grid homestead, but it seems like the channel has become more about building a house than the homestead. I'd like to see more about the homestead plans, how you are going to layout the operation. Where the animals are going, why you selected the placement of the animals, the garden, the greenhouses, etc… (sandtable briefing would be great for us retired military people) – how you hope it will all tie together… and how the original homestead is doing… I see a lot of chickens, but no egg gathering anymore… granddaughters liked seeing that, especially when your daughter was helping… also, what are you doing with all those eggs??? I'd like to see 1/3 old homestead, 1/3 house project, 1/3 new homestead plans… all three with tips, suggestions etc.. (I know easier said than done, but figured it could hurt to ask)
2 coats of Kilz is in most cases a waste of time and money, normally 1 coat is good.
I worked with a painter for awhile, I had more paint on me acter the first 30 minutes than he got on him all week. Its definately an art to paint neatly without sacrificing speed
It's much easier on the knees and back to use a roller handle. All that bending gets old after a few minutes lol
good morning Al and Gina,
in your kitchen, have you thought about putting in a pot filler over your stove. now would be a good time to plum it up. just saying. bedrooms are looking great!!!!!
If you tied Gina's hands behind her she probably couldn't talk.
I’ve discovered there are two kinds of painters in the world…the kind that wears the paint (like me!) and the kind that can wear good clothes to paint and head right out to an event (that would be my sister in law). Who knew we had a paint personality?
Just found the channel and love it so far. Just out of curiosity, what kind of accent is that? It sound like a mix between The Bronx, Boston, and The Midwest lol. It's very unique.
That paint spraying Machine is going to look amazing after roll on primer 😉
This makes me want to paint my house but I know I should wait until my kids get out of the drawing on walls phase. I have 7 kids and I learned that putting on a new coat of paint just entices them to do more drawings when the oldest were in this phase. And now that I have kids that can get through child locks they forget to lock up the art supplies so the little ones get to them. Plus, I don’t get to have a partner to help paint so if I wait a year or more then I can train a kid to do it with me unless I have another baby. But it’s okay I have many other projects going on between building my garden, possibly raising livestock, homeschooling, and the many other home projects we have planned. But seeing the marks on my wall drives me a little bonkers. Oh well my kids are worth it. Love watching you guys and happy belated birthday Al.
I can't wait to see what color paint you chose. Please don't say it's white!! Lol
Optimus Prime!
For a primer coat here in the uk we use emulsion mixed with water then two coats of emulsion always work well.
now it's looking rooms good progress
Hi al and Gina watching you put that primer on and trying to cut in the corners with a roller that’s a lazy way.as a decorator for thirty years primers and emulsion you should cut in the corners etc with a good three inch brush then use a roller much better finish.
It's possible the primer is thick because of the cold?? I'm sure you already thought of that, just an idea 💡
You want to save and money goto the depot and get behr paint last i painted i painted right over mud and the dry wall ONE COAT looked great no dry shrinkage or see though try it dont go nere glidden unless you want to do 4 coats
primer/sealer doesnt necessarily have undercoat in it. did you get a 3in1?
i usually do and i have it tinted to whatever the room colour is going to be. these days you could just get a one coat. youd be amazed at the difference
Psalms 57:10
“For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.”
Years ago, my sister and her husband were painting the house, one room at a time. She would cut in the edges, and hubby would roll. Their son, about 8 at the time, commented about what a bad painter dad was, because mom had to color in the lines for him. 😳😳😳
I just love how well you work together to get the job done. Whatever the task, you divide and concur. Primer looks great.
What do you do with all milk? Don't think I ever saw anything about that…
OMG!
great job guys ,coming along just great ,fast pace video
Looking great what a transition from Sheetrock to the primer Job well done
I didn't see Moose. How is he?
That looks so nice
