What do you want to know about living in Portugal while I'm here?
Thanks for going over language issues. That's always my biggest concern, and one that travel vloggers often skip.
Awesome Video…we are currently living in Canada and looking to move to Portugal…any direction you can give us on where or best digital nomad jobs or opportunities to do?…or even a site we can access information
From my youth when smoking was all around me as a waitress, I learned that you can get the smoke out of your hair by wetting your hands and running your fingers through. Just in case you need the trick.
I like the fact that you complain so much. I mean. You literally complain about almost anything. That's very American. Well done.
Congrats! Timed the dollar to euro perfectly! How's it there compared to Tenerife? Food? Prices? I've been wanting to see those islands… great inspiration!
what is this NUTTY music! ?? bye
Welcome back to Portugal, Kristin! Come visit us in Setubal, it’s got it all
Where are you based?
The Madeira gov't pledged to create a community of nomads, how's that plan going?
Welcome to Portugal! Be sure to visit Braga when you hit the mainland. 🙂
In regards to smoking, Sweden has the lowest number of smokers of any EU country, with less than 17 percent of the total population. That is less than half compared to the US. Smoking is banned in many public places and it is rare to stumble into someone that smokes.
I am planning a trip to Madeira in January / February. This is an exploratory trip as I would like to move there. I appreciate your insight.
Not need a car! I love this point and can agree. I am digital nomading now on Gran Canaria and I am so happy that I dont have to care about a car, the parkingplace the petrol the repration etc, I feel much more freedom without car…😉
I've always wanted to do what you're doing—living in all kinds of different places for extended periods of time. In my mind, I always thought that 4-6 months in each location would be ideal, though I'm sure it depends on various immigration laws. Maybe that would be "semi-nomadic." Now that I'm older, work and family constraints make this impossible, and there's really no end in sight. So, enjoy while you can!
I was wondering why you settled in Miami. Keep us posted. Looking forward to watching your growth.
Do you maintain health ins. in the US in case of an emergency? How do you have health ins. abroad when traveling from country to country?
Sucesso Kristin.
Oops I wanted to say : doesn’t the grass always look greener on the other side ? 😊
Dear Kristin, I am a Belgian lady. Have done some backpacking in life and some traveling in general. Am not aware about USA, only been to New York City. Being European, being Belgian, yes some countries in Europe are cheap. Esp Portugal. Apart from that I dare to say that life has become pretty expensive down here. A quote I love a lot : doens’t the grass always look greener on the other ? I believe it’s awesome what you do and I admire you for that. But living abroad for a while doesn’t make anyone a local. All the best 🙏🌻
Is there a ferry to get a car from Lisbon to Madeira? How's the weather? Is is there a lot to do/ Is it hard to find a place to live?
Beautiful Country I hope visiting one day .Thank you for everything you do
Everything of good for you ❤🇵🇹
So what is the least I can spend on a tiny house or apartment? I only get $1,200. a month social security?
I love the feeling of downsizing…shedding the heavy "things" you don't need.
Inspirational to see that you have a courage to break out from all the shackles of modern life, enjoy the freedom and energise others with your positivity to try something new))
Love your channel and comments…very intelligent and thoughtful. Please keep it up!
8000 new immigrants from US is nothing compared to Brazilian community that is 200k, the problem is the habits you bring with you, you must not tip, and you must negotiate if you buying real estate properties don't over pay the value, because your country is more expensive, act like a local and everything will be fine.
I learned the word for beautiful for when the food arrives and delicious for when the plate is removed and how to request the bill. Otherwise, hello, thank you, goodbye and sorry get me through the day.
I’m interested in how I can sell my travel photos. You mentioned it in another video.
Portugal is 7th country most fluent in English, the top is Netherland. You can speak Spanish if you struggle in Portugal, they will understand even if they don't speak English.
Didn't know about flatio. Great to learn about it.
Habe a great stay in Madeira.
Dear Kristin, I have a more general question about moving to another country. I might en up in Portugal, but Greece, Bulgaria and Germany are more likely at the moment. I have to see where there is job for me and an employer that wants me. Fortunately most jobs are 100% remote nowadays. My question is, I saw you packing boxes in beginning of the video. Did you take a lot of stuff with you to Madeira and how did you do that. I have been living and working for more than 6 years in Gdansk, Poland and now it is time to move on.
If it will be Germany, it it not such a problem, I will rent a van, put the things I have, including a race bike still in cardboard box, some baking accessories, a mini stereo, a microwave, a gourmet/raclette set and a mini wok set. Did you let the boxes come with the same flight you were on? Please let me know.
