#LivinginCostaRica #England #EnglandtoCostaRica ‘Fleeing England (UK) to Costa Rica During the Covid Pandemic – He’s Got Some Thoughts’. Nial has been in Costa Rica for about 6-7 months now. He was living and is from England (UK). Nial wasn’t sure where he was going to go but he had serious concerns about how the UK and England in particular were handling the Covid pandemic situation. He wasn’t a fan of the vaccine mandates and other restrictions but he also has a Filipino girlfriend and all the red tape and restrictions due to Covid made it impossible to see each other. Nial has traveled but Costa Rica was never really on his radar until Covid hit and he was looking for a least restrictive country. Costa Rica quickly became an option, especially since his girlfriend could join him. Red tape of course but doable. (She is here now…. with the help of our friend Jessenia, remember her? Our trusted real estate/lawyer friend). Anyway, Nial has been living here for awhile now and has definitely made some observations on what he likes about Costa Rica and what he doesn’t like, along with other insights and opinions about living abroad, overseas, in Costa Rica. Check out this video, ‘Fleeing England to Costa Rica During the Covid Pandemic – Will He Stay?’ to hear what Nial has to say concerning Costa Rica.

As of now this is what Costa Rica requires for tourists wishing to enter-
For those who are vaccinated, you only need the ‘Health Pass’
1. Electronic epidemilogical Health Pass form can be found here- *Complete this form in the 48 hours before arriving in Costa Rica. **IF you are NOT vaccinated, you will have to buy your ‘Traveler Insurance’ first since the Health Pass asks for the policy number and such. This form produces a QR code that you will be asked to show upon arrival. **Be AWARE- Some airlines may ask for this at check-in.
2. Travel Insurance must meet these requirements and if you use an international policy you must present a letter stating: -Guaranteed coverage of medical expenses in the event of becoming ill with COVID-19 while in Costa Rica, for at least $50,000 USD. -Minimum coverage of $2,000 USD for lodging expenses issued as a result of the pandemic. -Validity of the policy throughout the planned stay in Costa Rica. **Costa Rica’s travel insurance policies tend to be on the pricier side, you can get cheaper, don’t use the CR insurance if you don’t have to.
👉Trawick International is an international policy that offers affordable prices that meet Costa Rica’s entry requirements. You can find them here- 👈 *Although I heard about these guys months ago, I have ZERO affiliation with them, so I can’t answer anything. Do your homework as there are plenty of insurances to choose from now.. If you want to make sure YOUR international policy meets Costa Rica’s requirements, go here and ask them- seguros@ict.go.cr
3. Proof (airline ticket OR BUS TICKET IN THIS CASE) that you are leaving Costa Rica within 90 days. NOTE: Tourist visas are typically good for 90 days but be sure your insurance policy matches the amount of days you want to stay in Costa Rica. *If you purchase a policy that only covers you for 10 days, you will not get stamped for 90 (they know this manipulation, don’t try it.)
For those who need the Covid Test to return to their home countries, this video-
