'For Indians rejoicing Rishi Sunak, here's some caution: Ancestry & loyalty aren't the same'

#RishiSunak
Should Rishi Sunak let his ethnic origin or colour define his politics or is he eager to be seen as just another Tory politician? Watch ThePrint #ToThePoint with Vir Sanghvi where he explains why we shouldn’t expect Sunak to lean towards India, how ancestry & loyalty are not the same and why Indian origin politicians in the West owe loyalty to nations they live in.

  1. This is the same UK which had sent its nuclear weapons carrying Eagle aircraft carrier group to destroy India in 1971 in favour of pappistani military dictatorship and in support of genocide in Bangladesh

  2. I sit here and laugh at those who think he is Indian… He is where he is because he doesn't consider himself an Indian… He is British by birth and by choice. Let's stop trying to build castles in the sky.
Thank you Vir Sanghvi for this amazing analysis.

  3. Very Insightful and rational take on Rishi's PM anointment. This is a must-see video for all those cheest thumping Hindu and Hindutva Indians and also some of the Media houses, who celebrated Sunak's appointment as PM as having finally avenged the British colonization of India !

  4. a lot of people with indian ancestry living outside europe dont seeing themself as indian.
its like somehow they hate that they are of indian ancestry.
those people look like indians but there mind is colonised.
i see it in my own family and around me.

  5. I am very loyal to the country i live now.I don't evn think, nor isit the country I came from. Some one once said,"ask not what you can do for your mother, ask what you can do for your spouse"

  6. WE HUMANS ENGAGE OURSELVES MORE IN STORIES. WE LOVE STORIES. STORIES AND GLORIFICATIONS. HERE, THE ISSUE IS NEW. THE PM OF BRITAIN IS BROWN. IT STAYS NEW FOR SOMETIME AND FADES INTO HISTORY. HOW THE BROWNS ARE BEHAVING IN BRITAIN, IN INDIA B.Cs SCs,STs ARE BEHAVING THE SAME WAY- EXTRAORDINARY LOYALTY TO WHITES IN BRITAIN AND UPPERCASTE IN INDIA. LIFE MOVES ON…..

  7. Isn’t Modi a brown man like us? Isn’t he racist/Hindu/classist/Gujju? His time is now up especially as the bridge collapsed in Gujarat yesterday. Who is responsible? Modi, of course.

  8. It's good to see Vir Sanghvi for a change trying his best to drill some commonsense logic into whomever his analysis is aimed at provided they understand and receive each word he has spoken in the correct and informed perspective. However, all his explanations are in the present, that is, superficial. The non-superficial and bigger fact is, Svante Pääbo, the Swedish geneticist has recently received a Nobel prize in physiology or medicine. He has sequenced the Neanderthal genome. Yuval Noah Harari has written Homo Sapiens. Scientists and researchers have and continue to unearth huge evidence on modern humans and their origins. Additionally, a debate in the Supreme Court sometime back discussed that all Indians except the Adivasis (Bheels) are immigrants to India. So there may come a time when citizens of most countries would agree to DNA testing and realize that all humans alive on Earth today have a common origin – Homo Sapiens, Denisovans, Hominids, Neanderthals and how they mixed and spread out to form the world that we are occupying today. What happens then? The cream move away and colonize Mars and start a new world there, while the rest perish as Earth dies, eventually?

  9. Gupta is extending employment to all old, tired, rejected, dejected, discarded, discredited dolts who don’t deserve zilch. These are the guys who are invested in keeping India chained to the past. Thats where their chips are staked. Doon, Dunhill, Kipling, Dalhousie – Whaat!! Go pound salt Sanghvi.

  10. I do not think people are celebrating his Indian-ness. It is about being Hindu. A global Hindu broke the ceiling. He is unapologetic about being Hindu wherein the de facto Hindu country India expects people to feel guilty about being Hindu.
