Go where they are welcome! Rees-Mogg calls for spaying of Spain amid row over EU rules post-Brexit

Britons go where they are welcome! Rees-Mogg calls for spaying of Spain amid controversy over post-Brexit EU rules.
Forget the Spanish and the French.
Jacob Rees-Mogg gave a clear answer to an audience who asked about using Brexit benefits while speaking on BBC Question Time on Thursday night. The Conservative leader told the audience that the British public should go “where they are welcome” when discussing EU rules to be put in place after Brexit.
The answer came after an audience member asked the panelist: “When I wait in line for my Spanish passport for 40 minutes on holiday, what benefits of Brexit should I console myself with? Is your queuing worth it?

  1. Holiday in Portugal, they love Brits. We have a 760year alliance with the Portuguese & they’ve openly said, no big brother EU Rules chinless, corrupt, pen pusher in Brussels will change that.

  2. SHIWS JUST HOW RACIST MOGG IS, WE LEFT MOGG GET OVER IT, WE ARE OUT OF THE CLUB !!! GET OVER IT, BREXITERS ARE THICK AS PIGSHIT ESPECIALY THOSE WHO TOKD THE LIES AS WE HAVE NOT ONE BENEFIT, SO BREXITERS WAKE UP, 5 TRADE DEALS FOR 160 AGAINST AND YOU CALL THAT GOOD ????

  3. Britain, of its own free will, made itself into a third country. Up until then it had the freedom of Europe. Instead England (not Scotland or Northern Ireland) listened to its corrupt politicians and by a very narrow margin voted to leave the EU. Nobody tried to compel you to stay. As always, you were free to make your own decision. And you did. You voted to leave the EU, but without examining the reasons that the politicians wanted this – think of their offshore accounts that they would have had to declare under incoming EU legislation back then. That's why thethey were in such a scurry to get out. But ordinary English people didn't see this. Now you are paying the price that has been brought down upon you by your self-chosen Brexit. As a third country you handed back your right for free travel in Europe. For heaven's sake wake up and examine closely your politicians and their motives. I'm sad that it has come to this for my many English friends. Think of your elderly compatriots who chose to live in Spain for a better quality and affordability of life. They have lost the entitlement they once had for residence there. That's hard on them. I, a foreigner, seem to have more fellow feeling for them than their own lying politicians.

  4. Jacob Rees-Mogg’s new job as minister for ‘Brexit opportunities’ could make him substantially richer through his shares in an $8bn investment fund, experts have warned.

Rees-Mogg is a major shareholder in Somerset Capital, which he founded, and stands to gain if its funds benefit from Brexit trade deals. The firm specialises in investment across ‘emerging markets’ and major economies, such as China.

The government insists Rees-Mogg will not make decisions “in respect of financial services”, though could not give a full description for his new brief.

But Susan Hawley, executive director of Spotlight on Corruption, told openDemocracy: “Rees-Mogg’s vast investment portfolio in dozens of sectors across several continents could pose a serious conflict of interest with his reported intention of axing a thousand regulations when he could stand to benefit personally from the process.” . . .

  5. I have been to Turkey 7 times in the last 11 yrs. It’s great, they treat you well and it’s a lot cheaper than that rotten EU. I would never bother again with Spain. I went when I was younger with my children and they were unfriendly and rude. Never been back since

  6. And if you’re disabled enough to need a blue badge here in the UK, then don’t even think about going to Spain. They don’t recognise your blue badge and could fine you for parking in a disabled bay. Discrimination, or what? Most EU countries have already agreed to recognise our blue badge. Here’s the latest list of countries in the EU that welcome disabled people, it also shows the countries who don’t!

  7. Absolutely agree and have been avoiding the EU for a number of years now. The same goes for other purchases such as a car. I would never buy from the EU where I could find another alternative such as Japanese or South Korean, maybe a British car one day. I try to holiday at home too, help our own economy such as visit places within the UK that I've not previously been to.

  8. I went to Spain for years and was made welcome and enjoyed quiet and restful holidays. The quiet area I went to began to prosper as a result of British tourists and house owners who contributed to the economy. As a result there was more work and the young didn’t have to leave to find work in the big cities. Years later I sensed a change in attitude our money was welcome but we were not. I began to feel uncomfortable . I sold up and and have never been back.
Many have since done the same. A mistake to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

  9. Where can antidemocratic England go ,no where !
Nanny will help with canvassing bratsiteers are totally isolated.
Even disliked by all neighbour's Scotland Ireland, France,
    Germany now Spain.
Even the stampede is happening in England, chocolate tea pot party like labour is thrashing the bratsit parties
    Into smithereens, who am I?

Maybe there's hope after covid or BSE!
