Helical piles make an excellent foundation method for Eco-building projects. Because helical piles don’t require excavation-, soil removal, or concrete works needed, the work is fast, and the environment stays clean.

In January 2022 we did a helical piling for large size Eco-Villa in Comporta, Portugal. In total more than 300pcs. of helical piles were installed. The client wanted to protect the pine trees and vegetation on the site, which could be done by using helical piles as a foundation method. One important aspect using helical piles was also about 50% lower CO2-emissions, compared to concrete foundation of the same size.

Helical pile suits well for both clay and sand soils. In this specific case we were able to reach over 200kN load capacities using only 3m long piles. The foundation process is fast because tens of piles can be installed in one working day.
