  1. I think people are forgetting that black people are tired of laughing at jokes that were never funny. I don't think white people realize how much black folk smile and laugh so we can keep a job or keep white people comfortable. Very possible Tim felt disrespected each time it happened and only now has the energy to fully put his foot down. We have to pick our battles otherwise we'd be offended 24/7.

  2. No coincidence that this show that revolves around sponsors is talking about nuance and whether said person "means it" or not.

As someone who spent almost 20 years in locker rooms, no, this is not normal conversation. A bigot is a bigot. Neither is this conversation with pasty trash bags discussing language a "normal" conversation. Full stop.

Idgaf if theyre "charismatic" or not. Its not defendable. Ever. If youre past 13yo, saying its "playground" talk is absurd.

There are simply 2 groups of people concerning this. Those that think bigotry is worthy of defense – and those that do not.

Choose. Dont pass the buck to your culture or your upbringing or your friends or your shit talk or your insecurities. Just own it.

Be a piece of trash if ya want. But be a sincere one.

    Enough.

  3. Was Cousy wrong though? If those guys were born in 1990 and grew up with the modern training and medical benefits that players have today, would they still not be great players in today’s game? It’s so stupid to do comparisons between players from different eras.

  4. Thank god Im not the only one who found the "Jackie" thing funnier than offensive. I know Im guilty of callin some cats Mark Price or Dirk during pickup games. XD

  5. A black baseball player being called Jackie is the ultimate compliment. Keep stirring it up LeBatard. I sooo wanna quit watching this show but I love most of the other cast members

  6. Josh Donaldson thought he could say something and then it backfired. He shouldn't get fined or anything more because the public shame he's gonna experience for a few days, maybe a week, tops will be plenty punishment

  7. Can someone please explain what that old sounding phone call was about? I listened back to the segment twice and still can't figure out what the whole thing is saying.

  8. HEY DAN! We are not all "dumb-azz n-words" who think that EVERYTHING is racist or can't discern an innocuous or benign comment or word as disrespect. So tired of people like you and liberal white thinking that we are the "coddled pets" of society who needs defending at every turn

  9. Feel free to play the reckless speculation sounder on the front end of this, but my money on the truth of the Anderson/Donaldson thing is that Josh said it once and Tim didn't like it but awkwardly laughed or gave some other symbol of seeming approval, and so Josh thought it was OK even though Tim never liked it.

  10. I wonder if Dan will be brave enough to wade into the discussion happening on Twitter between his friends Luther Campbell and Jemele Hill. The former asked why black people should bother to keep voting and asked what promises to the black community have politicians ever kept. The latter did not address the valid criticism and just shamed him for not blindly voting in obedience without asking for anything in return.
