  1. I'm not leaving!!!! You have a specific charm that makes me watch your videos back to back. I also have the dream to get a house one day that I can say is my own and a stable job or income that would not make me miserable. Watching you do that and how you get it slowly but surely is really beautiful.

  2. I've been watching your videos for so long and all of a sudden I get a notification of you searching for a house in Pico… and I was like… Pico as in Portugal's Pico?!?! You chose one of the best places in our country to stay. I hope you are happy and I can't wait for the content you make next <3

  3. What’s wrong with the house you’re now living in? Also all my favourite YouTubers are quitting making videos please not you too. I mean do whatever pleases you I’m just pointing out I really like your content

  4. Hi from France, I admire your content a lot (i am a social media teacher here in France and I'm used to say to them that your audience looks like them :)) I've just checked where Pico Island is and my mind si blown, don't you worry being lonely there ? (One of my fears, maybe not yours), I am a 32 year old single struggling finding someone here so I was worried for you but maybe it's not a goal for you. Sending you good vibes from France 💜

  5. Kristen, don't be fooled – I might be very smart and crave educational content, but when it comes to you, I would watch you eat spaghetti for 2 hours. Don't you even worry about it 😆 anything you put out is golden! 🥰

  6. Hello dear blogger, I have been following your YouTube channel for a long time。Your video explanation is very good and helped me a lot。I hope to communicate with you deeply, looking forward to your reply, and business communication with you***

  7. Do you have an opinion on where to spend more time – Pico vs Faial for a tourist interested in hiking, relaxing, and nature? Im definitely hiking Mt Pico and the caldeira on Faial looks beautiful.

  8. Hi , your English is amazing. You have the eye of an artist. I'm American and an artist. So I see that. One thing about Portuguese and English that is the same is that the word for houses / casas, has the S in the middle that sounds like a Z. Houzes and cazash. That's how they sound. I hope you find your happy medium between beautiful and practical in a house. See you on pico someday prob in 2023. Até logo menina.

  9. hello! i'm portuguese and it's very common to find little houses like those outside of the big cities. sometimes people don't put up a sign, so try and talk to people around and the town hall, as other people suggested. good luck! i would die to live there and i never even visited Açores (yet).

  10. I love this content just as much as your previous content, honestly i will watch anything you put out, you are such an artist , πολλα μπραβο ❤🌿

  11. Heyo! Just saw your videos on Pico while browsing through YouTube. I'm from Pico Island, born and raised, but I'm currently in São Miguel for University. That being said, I know from your video that you're currently in the hunt for a house :p
While I don't personally know anyone with a house for sale, I might be able to direct you to some people who can help you out. And if you ever need help with anything else, feel free to give me a holler! I hope you're enjoying your stay, I know I miss my home every day :p

  12. Greetings Kristen! So does this mean that you are a Κορυδαλλιώτισσα? xD I remember the earthquakes and school mess in 1999, and sleeping in a car was not fun. All the best to you!

  13. A lot of the houses are abondoned because people leave due to lack of opportunity on the island. Or because they could not afford to rebuild. Sometimes the ground was also not stable enough for it to be safe anymore (especially alongside cliffs) and people were forced to abandon. Not because "they could not agree on how to split the land".
Also, every ruin and land has a owner. Please keep that in mind while wandering around. It might me abandoned, but it is still private property. And sometimes a house looks abandoned but is not, in fact it is someones private home. I am for example very sure that the house at 13:36 has people living there, but they could not afford to exchange the roof. Please be respectful of peoples homes.
Good luck with your house search, I am sure you will find something, as many places are for sale. Like the house at 14:46, it says "vende-se" -> for sale and a phone number. 😉

  14. Hey Kristen!
I've been folloeing you for a while now and really dont think you should worry about your content, hearing you speak is always entertaining and insightful, tbh.
Also, if you need any help with your building, i'm portuguese and an architect, and can help you out with any legal requirements and stuff on the city hall 🙂

  15. Very inspiring and so happy you are beginning this series and confidently embarking on this new phase of life
It’s very relatable for me as my mum lives in the Canary Islands and I would like to move there in the future
The volcanic island and architecture and vibes of both islands are very similar and I feel like I can see myself going through a similar journey in the future , can’t wait to see more !

  16. My mother's side of the family comes from Faial and Pico so i was really surprised to find out that you're moving there!! Pico is a beautiful island with a lot of gorgeous places to visit and it's just a 30-45mins ferry ride away from Faial and São Jorge (when you have the time I really recommend visiting them, especially São Jorge, it's hands down one of the most beautiful places I've been to). To me, the most beautiful views in Pico can be found in Prainha and Santo Amaro, I hope you check them out if you haven't already 😊

Just a heads-up, it's a bit difficult to find restaurants with vegan or even vegetarian options, so if you go out to eat keep that in mind.

Next month Faial will have Semana do Mar, which is this big festival with live music and street food. If you want to take a break from all that lovely peace and quiet, you should check it out!!

I have a lot of fond memories from my child and teenage years of spending my summer holidays at my grandmother's house in Faial and visiting my cousins in Pico, I hope living there brings you as much joy as it did to me! I too wish that someday I can move there, find a nice little cottage and live peacefully.

Welcome to Portugal, I hope you have the best time here 💕
