David, I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with the insanity that is buying a house now.

Ok, so I'm an American viewer, but it's insanity here too now. I bought a house about 18 years ago, and the process was fairly simple, I made an offer significantly lower than the asking price, the seller accepted it, and the house was mine. At that point I felt like I'd overpaid when they took my first offer, and now 18 years later my house is supposedly worth about 5x what I paid for it. Thus the insanity, it's the same house I bought, it's just some time later.

David, thanks for the update. I like all of your videos. but the documentary ones are great. I'm in Maine, USA and have never been to the UK although I have friends who live here from there. The information you share in your documentaries is great.

So sad I didn't know about the merch. Just a few days ago, I had one of my rare shopping sprees and did all my T-shirt shopping for the next 5 years! 😉 Nah, I'm joking, I might pick up one or two more, especially now they've got designs on them. "Narrowboat maintenance tool" is a definitely maybe, and I would buy "powered by cheese sandwiches" if my body would tolerate me eating cheese all the time.

A friend sells stuff in a virtual world — something between a game, a craft space, and a social environment. It's kind-of like the real world in that you walk around & meet people, or at least see them. He recommends wearing your merch, because then people see it; they know it exists, and if it's something they like, they may want to buy it. In this virtual world, potential customers don't have to talk to you, they can open your profile & look at your classifieds or "picks". On Youtube, of course, your viewers would see it and could look for your store.

Sorry to hear about the house situation dragging on. I hope it doesn't get too frustrating. I had a bit of a time of it looking for a place to rent, but I can't complain because it's much simpler when you're renting.
