  1. My husband is a Brazilian national with Portuguese ancestry in both sides of his family (18th century), speaks Portuguese natively, has two Portuguese surnames, has been to Portugal… but despite it all he has no right to claim Portuguese citizenship. 😵‍💫😱 Congrats, Portugal is definitely an amazingly beautiful country! 🎉🥂

  2. OMG Welcome to my beautiful country!!! Bem vindo! If u need anything u can send me a text!
Portugal is amazing in views, beaches, food, most people, music, partys etc. We have a healthcare system for free but the government kinda sucks…it is one of the safest places to live and i love our people. But there is a lot to improve. When it comes to wages it really sucks, renting and owning a house is impossible if you are by yourself…
I hope you like it here. <3

  3. Thank you for being real and open in your videos, they are so inspiring and they give plenty of things to think about, to appreciate life, and to think about the huge amount of things we can actually do in it. I'm a native Russian-speaking person, but it happened in my life that I started learning Portuguese for my professional life 4 years ago, exploring the culture and everything. And the funny thing, not knowing yet that you've got Portuguese citizenship I thought that you're somehow connected with Portugal🙃 Thanks for everything you do! Muita sorte aprendendo Português:)

  4. first of all congrats on the nationality! and man when you mention that feeling of being worry about the time you could stay in a place, I really felt that, it is always on the back of my mind, but luckily i almost get my dutch natiolanty as well, it took a lot of work but very worth it and frankly i could not be more happy

  6. I’m glad you’re part of the club, I’m from the UK and used my connections to get an Irish passport after Brexit luckily though it wasn’t as complicated as yours

  7. As you claim you do "not give a … about what people think" given that you do not even live in Portugal, I think you're playing the system. How do you feel about people who live and work in Portugal but struggle to get residency and citizenship? As you say, you're not even a practicing Jew.

  8. Congrats! I can't believe you were in Lisbon at the same time as me, I could have run into you! 🤯 I liked Lisbon, but unfortunately I got COVID halfway through my trip and had to spend the rest of the time in isolation in my Airbnb. 🙈

  9. As a Jew living in Europe. One thing is that most people do not like us. Even if they do not say it out loud. Its always the snarky shady comments, the stereotypes, the unwanted opinions. Just prepare yourself for it.

  10. I'm about to be in the same boat!! My father was born in Ireland, and although I don't know him very well and I've never been to Ireland, I'm a citizen and am very close to getting my own EU passport as well to be able to live anywhere in Europe without the stress of visas. I feel so fortunate and I feel that if everyone had the opportunity that you or I have, the world would be in a much different place, and for the better. 🙂 Much love

  11. Congratulations! I've been following your journey for years. And now you are not only a homeowner in Paris, but are also a Portuguese and EU citizen. As an American trying to move there too this is very inspiring.

  12. Ridiculous. You are not Portuguese. I hope the next government revokes your nationality and the ones from everyone who doesn't have any connection to the country. It's not your fault for abusing the system we have, but it shows your disregard for nationality.

  13. I don't understand what do you mean when you say that you don't have a Portuguese family "at least for the last 20 generations". Do you have any Sephardic ancestors ?
How did you prove that you are Sephardic if none of your ancestors were evacuated from the Iberian peninsula?

  14. Congrats! ❣👏👏 You have placed yourself in a very sweet spot, by improving intellectually and spiritually!!! ⚘🙌 You most certainly have created a beautiful and harmonic vortex for yourself!!! 🙏❤🎉 Keep up the great work!!! ❣

  15. You americans and europeans living the dream for being privileged to travel all around the world easily. I escaped my country and been stuck here for 2 years illegally now. It's much worse than my home country with high corruption and I really regret for making such a dumb mistake. Now I cannot go back because I am wanted and I will go to prison for not joining my conscription if I get deported back. I don't have access to many things like healthcare, housing and I am basically hiding in the slums to avoid being captured. I did that because I wanted to be same as you, being able to travel the world freely and see as many countries as I can. Now I will probably not going to live long because of the hostility towards foreigners here. I wish I was born a European so I wouldn't have to spend my entire life as a slave. Life is so unfair and cruel.

  16. As a MOORISH.. I think this is really unfair and so sad to give the nationality only to moorish jews.. I live in Morocco.. And i have the moroccan nationality but we never feel that we belong to Morocco. Even to visit our original home we need to get a visa.. We miss really our Iberian home and i hope we can return oneday ..

  17. thats great, now you can come to brazil and enjoy living here too.
Portuguese citizens have almost all brazilian rights by default.
    Cool right?
Suggestion: come to curitiba or florianopolis – brazil.

  18. What a complicated, interesting and genius way to claim your European-ness. And what a cool video you made about that process. I feel kinda privileged to be born with a German passport, mainly because of it having such a valuable status, but I feel the same way about the world as your friend described. I'm genetically "mixed". I don't really feel like a "proper" German. Because if you look differently, you are treated differently, that's just what it is. When people ask me where I'm from and I say I'm German, that's usually not enough for them, then I tell them I'm from Berlin and they keep asking. I don't get why we can't just choose the place where we feel like home like nobody's business. But happy for you, that you found a way to be able to do that.
