  1. This is why it's better to just live with family and start having group economics. There is no reason we should be separating if you don't need to. If you're blessed enough to have family members and you're able to contribute, then there is nothing wrong w living with family. Better than having strangers as roommates.

  2. They need rent control or some city regulations here. Bc God knows I don’t get the NYC appeal- but teachers, retail workers, average people need to be able to afford to live there. Like theres always gonna be bougie neighborhoods but the average shouldn’t be $3000 a month.

  3. So how are people making their rent? This post didn't show any solutions used by renters. It merely voiced concern. I pray that God will give those in need a creative solution to these financial problems. 🙏

  4. The problem is that only like 1/3rd of New Yorkers are paying market rate rents because of rent regulation and welfare. The landlords are making all of their profit off a minority of people who have no protections and are getting no government help, yet paying some of the highest taxes in the nation.

  5. Where I am at rent for a 1bd is 3K in Brooklyn.. I will be doing agency soon because this salary job not cutting it I need to make over 120k to be comfortable here almost half my monthly income goes toward rent

  6. And people be upset that workers want higher wages to compensate for the higher rent , then theyll be like robots are gonna replace us anyways smfh

  7. Boomers are stupid for suggesting that you should own property at 30 when they paid the cost of a well optioned C class Benz for their houses 40 years ago. Millennials are also stupid for living in a city they can’t afford just for the clout.
