The golden passport, sometimes called the golden visa is a tool used by the wealthy to avoid taxes, keep more of their money and use as a status symbol. The golden passport also referred to as the Golden Visa is now being sought after by a new group of people. High income W-2 earners who were forced to stay in the U.S. in order to commute to work. The pandemic has pushed thousands of people to work from home. Many realized they didn’t even need to be in the same country as their company just as long as they got the work done. With this new reality they’re trying to take advantage of the same tax benefits of the ultra-wealthy; not the top 1% though. I mean the top .01%.
