We learned by trial and error how to get around the Lisbon region without a car. We took almost every mode of public transportation while in Portugal. Once you know the system and get the proper apps, getting around the Lisbon area can be a breeze.
If you are new to our channel, we help folks who are close to retirement and forgot to plan, get their finances straight so they can retire one time…or maybe even early!

Yes you have two option for monthly pass. Is only 30€ month but only include your city (Lisbon), and the all Lisbon metropolitan region cost 40€ month.
I have 30€ because i live and work in Odivelas. I never go to Lisbon, but if i need to make a extra course (normallyinside Lisbon) i recharge that month with 40€ (to give me acess to not only Odivelas, but Lisbon to). But in summer months i recharge my monthly pass with 40€ to give me access to go to the beach in Cascais.
This 40€ monthly pass give you access to lots of cities near Lisbon, some cities by train are more than 40 minutes, like Setubal, Odivelas, Sintra, Cascais, Mafra, Vila F.Xira, Almada, C.Caparica, Estoril, Amadora, Palmela, Queluz.
But no Coimbra is not included because dont belong to Lisbon metropolitan area.
Some cities around Lisbon have castles/palaces, for exemple Mafra, Queluz, Sintra, Setúbal, Palmela, Cascais, Estoril…
Lisbon is the main city, but small cities around Lisbon are very beautiful also.
Love you guys channel, I can't wait too visit.
Some of those ferries can also take cars.
The monthly cards are only available for residents (must have portuguese ID card or a Residency Card to request that card).
CP = Comboios de Portugal (Portugal's trains)
Scooters in the winter in some parts of Lisbon are tricky…
Thank you! Great info! Good to know!!! Yes, at least try the scooter 🛵 before committing to buy one🤭😉. Love, love the editing 💯. Love the monthly pass for all modes of transportation!
