Hunting for treasures on our new land

This week we continue on our new plot of land. Starting with clearing the last bits of brush around the top well. We also try to test how deep it is and if it fills up again. After spending some time with a metal detector looking for treasures we decide it is time to dig up a strange looking pile of rocks. And we solve the mystery of the black pipe! Lots of fun things to discover.

New here? My name is Lea and I live with my partner Maarten, our toddler Puck and baby Bo on our land in Central Portugal. We left the rat race in the Netherlands in 2018 and moved south in our old campervan. Two years ago we bought land in Portugal that had been abandoned for several decades. After lots of hard work we now live in a beautiful yurt and keep ourselves busy growing our own vegetables as well as producing olive oil, wine and honey on a small scale. This channel documents all the different jobs we have to do, and sometimes some nice footage of this beautiful country we now call home.

  1. rock piles of that type are common all over the world on stone littered fields, it may be possible the farmer chose that spot to pile up the stone to help support the terrace wall if he thought it was weak.

  2. Hello from Afghanistan, woWWw, I really liked your channel, these videos remind me of my childhood when we had a big garden with different fruit trees and a big sweet water stream, it was secure and nice, we had safety, all the life was with nature, parents, siblings, my animals…. it was really enjoyable for me. but now, no safety no enjoy, no life…. everything changed and we left our home town more than one decade ago, and every family members are far away in different places in the country and the world. I wish to repeat those days again. but I know it will remain a wish until the end of life 🙁 . I wish you all the best.

  3. I think later when you clear more of the land you should dig further in that tidy wall- Maarten!! Bo is getting so big and doesn't want to be backpacking :):) Great water source on the land – What are your plans for this land? Cheers to the family!!

  4. Ooh its kind of exciting anyway, even though you didn't find anything of value. Plenty of time Leah lol. We are surrounded by stone walls too here in Scotland. Full of little beasties and beautiful moss. Love all your vlogs.
