Maha Mamo was born stateless and lived in the shadows in Lebanon for 26 years. That means not being able to go to school, to the hospital, to travel. To exist. But Maha Mamo’s tireless fight to belong finally paid off in October 2018, when she gained Brazilian citizenship.
Maha Mamo was born stateless due to a web of restrictive laws on civil registration in Syria and Lebanon, the two countries she had ties to. She is determined to advocate for the rights of stateless persons, hoping to put an end to statelessness around the world. She also advocates for an end to discriminatory laws that prevent women from passing on their citizenship to their children. amazing story may God bless her soul
I can understand your feelings my father and my mother is originally from Syria but I was born in Malaysia I don't have any nationality for some reason my parents could not give us the nationality me and my brother and sister I am so happy today to say the only country who accepted as its Pakistan nationality so we are Pakistani citizens so happy 😊♥️
Imagine there are thousands like her in Kuwait and some other middle eastern countries that were born there and they don't have no identities nor nationality and they don't have simple rights and they are treated like animals , just imagine .
Thank you BRASIL citizens and government , we appreciate these steps and we will never forget it ❤️❤️❤️
This girl she make cry 😢
Pessoas como voçê,jovem moça,me dá mais orgulho ainda,de ser brasileiro!
While Brazil simply cancel the Brazilian nationality for a Brazilian who voluntarily acquired another nationality. Make no sense. But I am very happy for her! ❤️
In a way She's lucky to be born stateless, otherwise not only her brother but her entire family would've been killed by American bombs in Syria.God is great
Oh right Brazil. The one of all the countries in South America where they don’t care about their sovereignty.

I'm having a challenge finding a way to send funding or help. Does anyone have a connection to do that?
What an awesome brave young woman. My heart weeps and my check book is ready to help! Further to let others know as well. Thank you Maha Mamo!
I wonder where these stateless people are [Lithuania, Latvia] and whether they can get education as locals.
