Porto has SO many amazing things you can do and is one of our favorite cities in Portugal. On this trip, we’re only passing through Porto to the rest of Portugal. It got us wondering, how would we spend one day if we were on a budget? Get ready for some walking! We’ll see some incredible azulejos (blue & white tiles), try the delicious Pastel da Nata, enter the Harry Potter bookstore, climb the Clerigos Tower (as a splurge option) and of course we’ll try some Port. Yes, there’s room in the budget for some port tasting!

The Casa da Guitarra has excellent Fado concerts most nights. They also have a wide selection of traditional stringed instruments and will be happy to tell you more about traditional music in Portugal. The guitarrista seen in the video is Alfredo Teixeira. He and his brother Serafim will be happy to help. Alfredo also builds Portuguese guitars by hand as a luthier.
