  1. Good companies in India pay 1/ 4 of US salary, top companies pay 1/ 3. My requirement is 1/2 (which might be possible by negotiating well though). Also the requirements for top college admission for my kids in India is not worth the effort. There's not much I would use later from the preparation effort. In the USA without having to memorize a lot or prep for crazy exams like the IITs, top 25 is very much achievable without too much effort.

  2. One word – Reservations. The general category educated folks find more and better opportunities abroad, US and Europe. These people would happily carry dual citizenship but India does not allow dual citizenship. People give up Indian citizenship to avail better facilities abroad but in the heart they are still Indians. They don’t give up love and loyalty towards India.

  3. What a misleading headlines, its simply because those people were living in those countries for long and its beneficial for them to get citizenship of that country to better avail the schemes. Also India does not allow the dual citizenship so there is no other way than to surrender your Indian passport. But Acc to this HL, people just walked to foreign countries embassies and surrendered their Indian passports LOL

  4. I am planning to give up my citizenship for three reasons. 1. my passport is not in my language, so it is no different for me if it is Indian or a foreign passport, I need two foreign languages to read my passport, 2. I am imposed on everything and I am treated like a second citizen or anti-Indian if I fight for my culture and language. 3. I am employed in a foreign country despite my lack of English. India is not focusing on creating opportunities for citizens and native speakers, now it is the land of Hindi and Hindus supremacy.

  5. The problem comes when rich indians give up indian citizens. The underlining thing is they invest the crores of money they earned in India and invest in foreign countries. Sad sad thing.

  6. Stupid question. When a person lives abroad and takes citizenship then Indian passport has to be surrendered. Expatriates are giving India the soft power abroad.

  7. Rich people never like to remain in India as here is no social security, discrimination of laws, persecution on minorities , collapsed judiciary, religious conflict, collapsed economy etc………
