Is Retiring to Costa Rica Right for You?? Hear from Someone Who Did, but Then Went Back to the US

Planning for your retirement? Wondering if retiring to Costa Rica is right for you? Hear from Mark R.

As Mark R. and his wife started planning for retirement, they came up with a plan. They visited Costa Rica tens of times, scoping out towns all over the country. They found the beach too hot, and the Central Valley too crowded.

Ultimately they fell in love with La Fortuna, Costa Rica and moved there a little over four years ago. They fell in love with La Fortuna because of the people, because of the natural environment, and because of the volcanoes. They bought a house and were planning to start a business. Four years later, they decided it was time to move back to the US.

In this interview, Mark shares a lot of great insight for current and aspiring expats about the pros and cons of moving abroad, the unexpected challenges of relocating to a new country, of how time-consuming the moving process can be, and what he would do differently if he was going to make internationally all over again. He always shares his advice for those who are seriously considering relocating abroad.

Mark still plans on visiting La Fortuna to visit his friends and spend time in a place he still loves.
