Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

  1. As an amateur gardener, I envy you the climate there. We're considering finding a Portuguese homestead but leaving Devon would be hard. How difficult did you find learning the language?

  2. You're both wonderful as always! One thing though, would you/have you considered putting the boiler and siding at the other end away from the window and running the pipes along the back? Just think with the space at the current end it's going to be compromised and make your window darker. Love your work though!

  3. Well done with your first year crops!! A tip just in case you weren't aware is to make sure you rotate different families/genus of plants in your sq fts to prevent loss of nutrients used by similar crops e.g. nightshades – tomato, peppers and aubergine etc in the same plots, plus possible associated bugs. Look forward to seeing what you grow next! 🌱🤗

  4. Theo never got around to changing into his shorts. He would really have appreciated the lake swim. ❤️. Funny how we just sweat it out instead of taking 5 minutes to change clothes. Been there, done that. ❤️

  5. Love the garden stuff. The garlic, so cool. Indeed, so amazing to be growing your own food. Your property is such a dream place, with all the different plants, flowers and trees. And critters. Love it s'much. Felt a little disappointed that we didn't get to see more interaction tween the goats and Furnando. So cute, how they were chasing him. Wondering if they were just playing, or if they were actually annoyed by him, ha. Sidenote, I've been wondering about those tags on the goats' ears, if they have to be there for some reason.

  6. This is my Happy channel! How I love to turn to the peace and beauty of your indie projects given the sadness and madness in the world right now. Thankyou Bea and Theo for continuing to upload the beautiful life youve both created for you and your lucky animals. Your episodes are an absolute joy to watch.

  7. thank you for the tip in how to harvest and treat the garlic after, I'm a beginners gardener too and want to plant garlic , peppers and other things like you did, cabbages, lettuces etc.
