We believe in you charley TEO
I think the major problem I can see in the comments is people don’t understand that sometimes it’s not black and white. The same person can do great things and bad things. there’s no denying he’s had major triumphs and saved lives. but for bella Howard And Mikolaj Barman. He destroyed their quality of life for time they had left.
you can be an innovator a pioneer but always with your patients best interest at heart. he didn’t do that with those two children he had his own agenda.
Wow what a story. Charlie please never give up on yourself. The vilification the persecution, being demonised is nothing new in culture and society, however never give up believing in your self and what you do. Your honesty, your heartfelt dedication to your patients is a rare, rare commodity that is a gift, your gift. Human nature can be so cruel however it does not need to reflect
or make you "that person"". We live in a system in Australia which disqualifies and takes away hope trust and faith at the best of times and you give it back to suffering families who love their sick family member. I made a decision with my husband on three major brain surgeries on aneurysms and we didn't once consider the surgeon or question his professionalism or expertise, we made it based on the marriage and the love we wanted to keep alive. 25 years later my husband lives a very sober loving caring life. Would he have died? We can't answer that, he lived. We also made that decision against all odds and were prepared for the no guarantees. 💖💝💖 How can anyone not be grateful and appreciate the leap in faith which others call "risk"" that you especially take for the love of humanity and your patient. Australia needs doctors/surgeons like yourself. People take highly demeaning hostile actions against the good who live by the truth and call it the other side of the story. Why does Australia react with so much animosity, small narrow mindedness and then lose an amazing surgeon like you. Australia please lets learn from Charlie rather than condemn him as the great man he is. Thank you Charlie for all that you are and all that you do.Surely there are some surgeons out there with courage and conviction prepared to step up and learn some of Charlie's techniques, create a team with new life saving techniques rather than buckle down to "the system"
Brilliant man.. upsetting how people would rather rip someone down than look inadequate. Expecially with life and death.. just shocking!!
I don't know, but it does seems race also play into this. It's very unfortunate seeing something like this happens to a very capable doctor. Working in companies this happens alot. People that are capable of doing the work are put down by people that knows how to talk nicely and shoe shine the bosses.
Seems like a genuine surgeon. Nothing like what the media is trying to portray. No doctor in their right mind would promise miracles to patients. It’s just not in our training.
If he is in it for the money, he would have gone into Finance, Banking, Property, or Law….not Medicine.
The problem is AHPRA. They are an invalid organisation at law.
lol he is egomaniac. no one is jealous, only concerned with his recklessness .. costing other's lives by giving false hope when he knows the outcome, justifying for himself and main factor is GREED.
I don't know Charlie and only have my info from what i have seen in the media. I think 60minutes did a horrible job on their segment, it was not fair and balanced, they didn't show all the cases where he has saved lives where others have said inoperable. They just painted him to be a egotistical money hungry surgeon. Shame on 60minutes
His ego so big ! Life sentences is the rite punishment for him! We hv to pay tht price like he said !
my experience with Australian medical system is one word "broken" the system attacks competency
Charlie i no a person you helped in the 90s and still alive now yer its sad if things go wrong but the positive outcome for 90% he is a good man thx CHARLIE
The other Neurosurgeons are only jealous of him cause they are incompetent in comparison to this Dr.
A jealous persons envy can only be bought with Gifts/Money – Politics will only go so far with these types of people.
This Dr puts everything on the line to do what a ‘healer’ is supposed to do!
Where else, the other lazy doctors are either sitting on the loo shitting themselves at the prospect of performing the most sensitive surgery known to mankind, or couldn’t be bothered with all the stress and drama involved with the patient and their families.
They should be ashamed of themselves.
Those Doctors are traitors to the medical profession. Cowards at the very least.
Only a coward would sit behind a desk and complain about a Dr with an IQ higher than any surgeon- regardless of the type – in the world right now.
They should be kneeling down and kissing this Drs feet and begging him to teach them about the knowledge that he possesses.
This Dr has all the hallmarks of a legendary figure in the human race.
His characteristics have the scent of a once in a century talent.
I hope he doesn’t let this get to him. I would hate to see one of mankind’s true gems
Be affected by a nation with a population of less than 30 million.
The world needs him. Forget about Australia. There is a big world out there.
it funny to see people saying that his greedy charging $40k to $50k for complex surgery but it ok for people to pay $20k upfront Boobs job which can leak or kill you later if done badly. I guess it really Boobs over Brain matter right lolz
It is the same in any other field in Australia. You are forced to think "within the box" and they tell the world they are thinking out of the box. This is why best brains are running away from Australia.
I’ve met a several brain surgeons and most seem to have the cocky maverick mindset. He’s no different from the ones I’ve met.
Doctor Charlie you are a very rare breed of doctor and man. Keep up the great work, you are a real hero . Brave beyond belief. May God continue to bless you and keep you safe. 🇦🇺🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think his not rich because of the public liability insurance going up..
What Dr Teo has said is the truth and 1000's working with him know it too.
It starts with families grieving looking for someone to blame. It is sad but True.
Now many won't have the chance to choose to risk for a better outcome.
So many colleague's have turned because of ego and profit. And ego having someone have a different outcome is a real threat.
We have lost one of the best.
How embarrassing and very ordinary Australia. Surgeons and Health Departments. 2 years is better than none. 6 months is better and none.
It is what it is!
I’m a theatre nurse and I work alongside doctors everyday. I also worked with Charlie before. Charlie is right. It’s all about politics. Patients are merely a number to the majority of the doctors nowadays. They do appear to put their career, financial considerations before the patients’ best interest. Us the general public is the biggest losers of this. We can’t get the best treatment, don’t have the opportunity to make an informed decision because we are not offered all the options. The options are pre-selected for you and those pre-selected options are often low risk with high financial return for the service providers. It’s really sad to see this. This culture prevents improvement and breakthroughs in medicine !
