What a load of tosh….I live in France, pay tax here, have my Titre de Séjour. I don't know anyone who was deported. The Préfectures admittedly were slow some more slower than others but France did everything to make our transition easy. If you had lived in France for 5 years or more you needed 3 pieces of information on your online application. If his partner had, had a baby here she must have had a Carte Vitale.
That´s not true. If he was registered in France and paid tax in France he would have been entitled to a CdS. His partner being Hungarian would be OK as an EU citizen and the child would be a French national. If he was living under the radar and working on the black that may be the reason he couldn't apply or be accepted for a CdS. After Brexit and we had the Withdrawal Agreement he would have had a year to apply for a specific CdS under this Agreement. We didn't have a large income but still qualified for health cover with a Carte Vitale for my wife and two daughters. I have never known or heard of any British citizens being deported. Many have left due to living and working under the radar.
