James O'Brien rips into this 'absolutely appalling apology for journalism'

James O’Brien rips into this ‘absolutely appalling apology for journalism.’ James O’Brien rips into this ‘absolutely appalling apology for journalism’ amid the row over the non-dom status of Rishi Sunak’s wife. @Shiwon_NZ_Ao tweeted ‘I’m a kiwi. I don’t even have residency in the UK yet. Last two years my UK tax bill has been (thankfully – I’m very privileged to make enough to pay it) mid five figures. I didn’t claim furlough, even though eligible. @RishiSunak explain how your wife’s choices are fair’.

  1. Here we go with this rules for us, rule for them nonsense again.
And mentioned here again is that "truth" word, that nobody seems to understand.
I can't get past the irony of bojo, telling the Russians they need to hear the truth.
Jk Rowling could have written this story since Cameron came to be.. but at least she would have had an ending we could live with.

  2. can I claim non domicile in the uk and continue to live in my council house, claim benefits while using my Indian atm card to withdraw money from my Indian bank account?

  3. I think the definition of being non domiciled is whether or not the person concerned spends more than half the year in the country. So how many days does she spend in the UK every year?

  4. Sunak thinks his wife shouldn't be forced to give up her Indian citizenship.
I wonder what justification he can dream up for why I was forced to give up my EU citizenship, against my will.

  5. I'm not sure I fully understand. She pays tax on UK earnings here and tax on Indian earnings there. Can her businesses operate without paying taxes in the countries tey operate or is everyone advocating a double tax on her? Hep me make sense of the outrage please. Thanks all.
