  1. My father loss connection with his father since he was 3 yrs. old my father Arturo Dormal past away with out seing his father i try this ancestry and found out that my grand father Cesario Dormal died last 1990 he lives in Long Beach California when he's still alive he was married to other woman he has children too hope we can communicate and ask about our grand father when he still alive

  2. Shortly after WW1 my family, which was living in the Rotterdam region of The Netherlands, had a split. Half the family wanted to come here fearing another war could happen in the future. The other half stayed.

I do not know what happened to the half that stayed in Europe, but I have to imagine they died in the Rotterdam Blitz 🙁 – If they are still alive I hope they are doing well

  3. I finally took a DNA test. Dads side, 100% percent British. Moms side: British/Welsh plus a little French/German. From Family history: the region formerly known as Gaul. No surprise to me at all. 100% white, almost exclusively British Isles.

  4. My father's family were from Buczacz which; when he was born, was part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, and is now in western Ukraine near Lviv. In 1919 my grandfather decided to move my grandmother and their children to London to stay with relatives. None of my family who stayed behind survived the war. Like Jeff, many names that came up during research I'd never heard of. I suspect there are MANY like us.

  5. It is moving. Yes and gives you roots. I don’t have my family names beyond my grand grand father grand father. But now I can trace my family roots all along the countries we came from. I often think of them, my ancestors….they don’t have a name still but I can place them in their original countries……and I feel more close to them.

  6. I can never tell with actors if they're being honest in these shows. Not knowing somebody and their honest reactions to things causes the doubt, but he really seems genuinely moved.

  7. American actors seem like they are permanently on a stage. I wish they would drop the mask and behave naturally. We are all vulnerable human beings. Sorry for your pain Jeff Goldblum 😔
    🇺🇦🙏💛💙

  8. hey Ancestry, pls moderate your comments.
I’ve already found one troll spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories, and I’ve only looked through the first 10 threads. If you care about truth, then don’t let people spread lies on your channel,

  9. We should remember there were series of pogroms resulting in the mass murder of Jews in Tsarist Russia, another series of pogroms after the Russian Revolution causing up 200K deaths (including in Starobin in 1921), then the Holodomor where tyrant Joseph Stalin starved up to 8 million to death (mostly Ukrainians), Soviet anti-semitic projects intended to end Judaism in the Soviet Union, then the Soviets allied with Hitler to invade Poland, then the Soviets murdered thousands of Polish prisoners while they were bound, then the Nazis betrayed their ally and attacked the Soviet Union, and only then did the Soviets ally with Britain and the US, but solely in fighting Germany, not Japan. Jews have mercilessly been persecuted by royalists, communists, fascists, and still they are persecuted today. The whole point of Israel is there is only one tiny spot in the whole world — Israel — where Jews can practice their faith, or no faith, knowing they are not dependent on the munificence of fickle leaders for their liberty and their lives. Good for Jeff Goldblum: he carries the legacy and hopes of so many denied full lives.

  10. You never know what you will find. My great, great, great, great, great grandfather was the Choctaw Chief of Scouts under Andrew Jackson in the Creek War of 1814. The Creek War Chief Red Eagle they fought against is also my cousin! How often does things like that happen? I am two parts Choctaw & one part Nansemond & Cherokee along with the Scotch, Irish and English I inherited from both sides of the family. I encourage you to dig deep. You never know what you might find.

  11. No matter how famous a person is, we all have humble roots from before modern society existed and this actor just proved it with real and wonderful human emotion. 🙂

  12. God Bless Jeff and his ancestors!Jeff Goldblum is an outstanding actor and a beautiful funny friendly sweet man!!! I’m sure Jeff is so proud of his ancestors. He has a lot to be proud of.He’s a great man with an interesting and amazing family heritage!

  13. They need to quit doing shows like this that do for the rich what they could have done very easily for themselves. And do for those that are of much lower income and say like a Jew that was in a Concentration camp to see if they might find any of their family.
