Beijinos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi
Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

Can't wait to see it painted! It's going to look fresh and bright when you're done! Great shelving idea 👌
what a lovely job you have done of the walls and hearth area. Sorry guys I do not like the concrete block shelving, with the rough surface of concrete the shelves will be hard to clean. BTW your garden is looking very lush, I guess you will be into planting your vegs
You should make little drawers for the small usable openings! (It would have to be very thin wood, but it wouldn't need to be strong)
😀
Too smoothen the walls, put 1 more thincoat of render with tile glue, the result will be more smooth and you can fix the uglier parts, strenghtens also!
I live in Hungary, where its being used outdoors..
It’s so great that you and Ewan and Nick and Andrea help each other out. Great community 😊👍
Bird sounds are amazing! You could make a video of bird sounds, with a natural nature backdrop and put it on youtube for relaxing or meditation. Diolch x
I love that lamp!!
Haven't caught any of your videos for a while (I shall endeavour to catch up! 😊) Wow though! Absolutely amazing how far things have come along! Very cool 😎 Take care.
Great work on the kitchen guys!
Love the progress and the design ….just get the whole for the chimney done now save all the mess ..don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today….also a shame you couldn’t put a window over the sink …tractor or a Rotorvator Next …
When you put the chimney in why don't you put it through the roof that way you will get warmth from the flue as well. Love what you are doing.
interesting. Thank you
HI CARISSA & IWAN…CANADA…THAT'S WHERE I AM…WEST COAST (VANCOUVER)…GREAT TO SEE ALL THE WORK BEING DONE ON THE RESIDENCE…BLESSINGS…;)
Looking good guys 👍👍
Love the "closing scene' idea. It's so peaceful. The perfect end to any day.
Hey beautiful people!
Step by step …the things will go perfect! Good job!
Namasté
Nothing better than labour of love. Great to watch.
You two are doing a amazing job with the help of a great friend. Your place will be fantastic as it is already wonderful. Take care.
So love Nick's coaching with that stone wall and the cubbies. And Iwan plinth's looking good. It'll be smashing when it's finished as you described.
You guys are just getting so many things done 🙆🏻♀️! I'm excited to continue to watch as you go along and see how your vision for the kitchen-lounge will be! and it seems you'll be enjoying well before it gets too hot to work. 🤗
Love your videos of living on your own land in Portugal.Great to see the progress made to your kitchen. I liked your arrangement of concrete shapes for compartments and shelves, very eyecatching and practical. Have you thought of painting sections in two or three different primary colours …like a Mondrian painting. Could look really cool.
Just an idea.Thankyou for making it so interesting to watch. Love the two cats and dog too.
Some tips on painting, always store the can/bucket of paint upside down, well closed cause the important components go to the bottom. Also, it prevents the paint from getting dry as this procedure seals the recipient. I personally think you should not mix water and use it plain to get better coverage, since the walls are in raw cement. Nice job, you are getting there!
Wow guys, great video, perps, no perps, who cares,xx ❤️
I would do all white walls, I think it will be beautiful with the texture walls! 🥰
Nice work! And what a lovely sound of all the different birds, wonderful!
Nick is from Project Portugal and is a mentor to many. His work is outstanding.
I’m an oldster as well and I so admire what you guys and Nick and Andrea are doing. ❤️
What do you mean by "magnolia home"?
I like the grey cement, but I would warm it up with blond wood and dusty pink to mauve accent!
