Why are they red list countries, is it because there are shortage in those countries or not well trained, we should know. As for independent job search and company not hiring, I think that could be talking about company sponsorship which has become rampant even though not easy to get.

But if a candidate is probably there already, and seek for employment, they can be employed.

If I may add that you review your information about companies not being ready to sponsor graduates. Companies that are eligible to sponsor are usually able to sponsor international students that get offer onto their graduate scheme. But mostly the recruitment process is usually tedious. I think the challenge most international students have is that when you already have a career from your home country and you come to study Masters degree, it may be very difficult to find a mid level job and the employer willing to sponsor at the same time. This is when the issue of having UK experience comes in.
