Have you ever dreamed of living and working in Europe? Maybe you’ve considered retiring there?
In this video, Nicolas Monnier and Francisco Amaral explain how getting a visa for Portugal is easier and more affordable than you’d imagine
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Portugal is located in southern Europe, next to Spain, and is known for its beautiful beaches
It has a warm dry Mediterranean climate with an average of 300 days of sun every year and winters temperatures are rarely under 50 degrees
The population is about 10 million, with 1 million living in the capital city Lisbon and many people living by the coast
It takes about 90 minutes to drive east to west and about 6 hours north to south
Portugal has excellent public and private healthcare and well-rated school systems
Everyone learns English from 1st grade, so even in rural areas most people speak English
Francisco and Nicolas discuss the two kinds of visas for Portugal
The D7 Visa is an excellent choice if:
✔️ You want to settle or retire in Portugal
✔️ You have stable recurring income
✔️ You’re able to work remotely for an employer outside of Portugal
✔️ The D7 is a long-term residency visa that can lead to eventual permanent residency and/or citizenship. And you don’t need to purchase property or invest
The Golden Visa is a passive residency program:
✔️ You’re required to purchase property or invest
✔️ But you do not need to stay in Portugal for more than 7 days a year
✔️ Allows you to work or travel all over Europe
