  1. How is possible that the local authorities in Portugal allow this ? In Italy you would be heavily fined , no architect ,no structural engineer no Health and safety ….I don't think in any third world country you could get away with this totally non compliant work

  2. Hi Jasper & Co. Glad you have the cooler weather now. The wetland area is looking great. Rudy will be able to plant up his area outside his abode. Grow some veg and flowers.
Back to the roof jobs, your getting on with the task. Jobs again being ticked off your list. Zoe does listen to you, she just chooses when to listen….. Don't forget to drink water too, I know its cooler but your using engery, muscles and they need water. Stay safe. Have a chilled weekend. 😎

  3. Nice to see the progress you've made so far. It's important to get the roof done before winter. Hope you can make it. Judging by the comments, there seems to be concern about the strength of the walls (or what's left of them). I like the idea of a separate roof on the bathroom. Hope you'll have some time off after the roof job which looks like a lot of work. You're nailing it! Be careful.

  4. Howdy Jasper!! Just stumbled on your channel & have been binge watching your videos! It's great that you have some great volunteers to help your project reach fruition. Duarte is a real gem & it's great that you're teaching him in the remodeling arts. I can easily see how close the two of you are & it's wonderful. Keep up the great work, it's gonna be fabulous when you finish!!!

  5. For me as a German the thin walls made of these "tijeles" look very dangerous. The stones are made of clay and air and the walls are very thin. Here it would be simply illegal, not only for reason of lacking isolation, but it looks also very dangerous if you think they have to carry a heavy roof. Did a structural engineer made any calculations about your house?

  6. Great to see the house worj has started! still don't know why you don't poor a solid concrete beam along the top of each wall! instead of bricks! it will strengthen the wall and give a stronger roof, and wall roof bond.. Also think of all those roof tiles above each lintel/ window.. keep going guys..

  7. Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love you all guys, maybe make a crans on top of the whole with rebar that makes the wholes much stronger to carry the roof, and this top beam make it in till this big whole where you took this middle out.put a other big beam over this one whole and let the long beam lean on the smaller with a makelaar under the long beam, I hope you can understand what I mean. I like some progress.
