Our first day in Lisbon! Our red eye landed around 11:00 AM local time. We couldn’t check into our AirBnb yet so we set off to explore Belem.

We hoped to visit Jeronimo Monastery but there were no luggage lockers nearby so we planned to return the next day. But hey, that meant we got to savor Pasteis de Belem two days in a row!

Eventually, the jet lag caught up with us, and we headed to Alfama to drop off our bags. Alfama is an awesome neighborhood full of neighborhood cafes and very walkable. It is a little touristy though. For that reason alone we will probably explore other neighborhoods on return trips, but we would definitely stay in Alfama again.
