Lisbon Portugal | Walking Príncipe Real to Chiado

Walking in Lisbon Portugal is one of my favorite things to do, as there is something new to discover around every corner. Lisbon is full of hills, and, well, I’m not trying to walk up a bunch of hills! This walk is short, downhill, and I cheated a little and took the tram for part of it. Who doesn’t like a good tram ride?

If you’d like to take this walk, start at the metro station Rato (end of Yellow line), and simply walk down Rue da Escola Politécnica. If you want to catch the tram, the stop is right in front of the restaurant Cervejaria Real Fábrica. Also, after you pass Jardim do Principe Real, the street name changes several times (Rua Dom Pedro V, Rua de São Pedro de Alcântara, Rua da Misericórdia) but it’s all the same street that drops you right into Chiado.

Enjoy!

  1. I enjoyed that so much. I’m hoping to visit next year in anticipation of retiring in 2024 or 2025. Honestly I would go today if I could. I’ve been disgusted with the U.S. for quite a while. I just want to live in a peaceful place where I don’t have to get anxious every time I go to dr because of costs. Stay well❤️

  2. Can't wait to walk around there as well! Did you ever visit the botanical garden of Principe Real? It's very close to the Principe Real little garden that you visited.

  3. My husband and I met at a bar in Aix en Provence…Better than on line if you ask me!😁 Anyhow, I loved this relaxing soothing video of my city…❤Lisboa and your music selection! Have you been to Embaixada shopping center just across from the park? I go just for its beauty and architecture…Hidden gem! Lastly, visit my friend Anne at Miradouro for some artwork! Take care and continued enjoyment of our fabulous city!! Oh, I GOT MY RESIDENCY CARD!!!!! SO HAPPY!
