Living abroad in Portugal can be difficult to compare to living abroad in Italy. However, having lived in both countries, I can definitely say I’ve noticed differences between these two countries. I’ll never say one is better than the other, but what I will say is that there are areas in which one country does pull ahead of the other. When living in Europe, you’ll find many things across the continent that feel familiar, but you’ll also find how extremely different each country can be. Can I say there are things that I miss about life in Italy? Most definitely, but the good news taking a plane to Italy is quite realistic since it’s not that far away, and some top destinations will take me just as long to get to even from where I live in Portugal compared with where I used to live in Italy.

Happy to have you back at it again and glad you are feeling better! Hope you are back to 100% soon.
Glad you’re feeling better. I know covid is not fun.
Glad to see you back at it again and feeling better Rafi. Thanks for the shout-out, too. Really enjoyed hearing about what you miss about Italy and all the comparisons between the two countries. Take good care and a presto. 🙂
About transportation: uber isn't in Italy at all. They came here 6 or 7 years ago, but taxi lobbies were able to ban this kind of services from the country. That's why you'll never be able to get a cheap ride in Italy, and that's why a always suggest to catch the train or a flixbus ride 🙂
In remember in Oregon a 1.5h (130 km) ride with Lift costs around 130 dollars, while in Italy with 100 euros you make almost half the way by taxi 😅
(For example, Verona – Vicenza costs 110 euros, for 55 km…or from Verona Porta Nuova to the airport 26 euros, for 12 km…)
So happy that you are feeling better. Good to see your smiling face again.
Awesome! Well explained!! 👏🏼
In Italy, you don't have one "unified" food. It varies (sometimes a lot) region by region so it's difficult to talk about it and compare it to the national Portuguese cuisine.
No offense but comparing Portugal to Italy is like comparing your average Fiat Panda to a Lambo….
Come on….Alps, seaside, food, culture , UNESCO sites, from hypermodern towns like Milan to medioeval villages…and everything in between…. Oh, I was.forgetting lakes, rivers…. Sorry I'm Italian so I'm biased,
But to me there's no place like Italy…at least in Europe ….
Thanks!
Great feedback Rafael! Food, travel, apartment renting and healthcare in one video! PT/IT comparisons are very helpful to me as I’m deciding which way to go when I can bolt out of the USA. Familiar more with Italy 🇮🇹 (IT citizen) vs. PT 🇵🇹 so your comparisons and perspectives are ALWAYS appreciated. 👍🏻👍🏻 Glad to hear you’re on the mend as well. All the best to you. Cheers.
