Making A mess Digging A Trench Through The House For Plumbing #85

Last of the dreaded jobs in this old village house renovation. Can’t wait to get this out the way but it is obviously essential. Unfortunately we have to go through walls and out to the mains sewage. Blah

  1. Glad to see you are taking time t0o have a bit of fun on the golf course. House is progressing nicely. All of the jobs you are doing now are messy and hard work , yet in the end they will not be seen but boy oh boy are thy necessary

  2. Just a heads up if it hadn't been mentioned earlier, please provide the young lady in the video with some steeltoe shoes. Unless I missed it, looked like she was outfitted with Sandals. 😉

  3. Such a creative idea for your roof Andrew! Could be a great fire protection idea you could market to make $$, lol in your spare time😂🤣 going forward down the road always😊 Take care🇺🇸

  4. Andy you have the best Portugal remodel/rehab vids in my opinion, couple questions
1). you must know the invert or tie in at the waste service outside, that will determine pipe grade…i generally pipe from the invert in
2). what about venting?. are you going up furred out walls?
    – any time i see open trenches i see an opportunity to run under slab electric conduit….js
keep up the good work, install is always subjective, then end results is what matters

  5. Well done! Very interesting seeing how water systems for essentials are positioned. Super area on your roof.(no snakes) The idea of sprinklers is what is used for thatched roofed houses. As long as water supply is strong. Looking forward to Wed video. August soon over, when Sept brings nice temps .

  6. Progress has been huge. Hang in there in the heat. That trench looks like it was a real bear to dig out, and of course, you had to run into rocks! You will soon be to the more enjoyable elements of the build, look forward to seeing it.

  7. Suggestion: Seperate grey and black water drains, also make all drains that go into the floor 100mm diameter with the least bends es is possible. Don't make "traps" inside the house, use the exterior trap as a "meeting point for all drains going there directly. Plastic piping doesn't cost much and this makes things much easier when a drain is blocked.

  8. It's funny watching you bent double deepening those trenches made all my muscles ache. Been there done that and know how much effort that must have taken 😅💪 Great progress drains never look dramatic but they unlock future progress. Nice one 👌👍

  9. Hi Andy for a minute I thought you were on the set of jumanji with that giraffe on the wall, looks like hard work getting through those walls I think you need those smoothies to cool you off, great fun putting in the pipes done it many times it’s getting the fall right.

  10. The amount of effort, detail and overall hard work that is going into the house… amazing. 👍

Whoever does buy it will be lucky indeed.
And bonus, they get to watch all the clips of making it happen.

  11. Hi Andrew, I think you are an inspiration on determination and stamina. To take on a project as laborious as the house you and James are renovating is not a job for the faint of heart. Kudos to both you! I just am not convinced that the house is worth all the sweat and work it will take to become liveable. But then again, I’m always looking forward to next video to see what’s happening and how far have you brought the place, week after week. Thanks for the videos.

  12. Blimey is right!! Digging that trench does not look like fun. Could not help but think a guy with a specialized backhoe on a small tractor or Bobcat could have done that for you in a couple of hours. I know, I know, you are doing the work yourselves to save money. Still looking forward to the next phase where you put your creativity to work!! Great video Andrew.

  13. I was thinking maybe you would unearth a roman coin or something ancient buried beneath the old house. Oh well. We found old whiskey bottles in our walls when we renovated and suspected the original builder had a drinking problem and was hiding the evidence. That was a lot of work digging the trenches! I hope you are resting up this weekend.

  14. So, how did u do in the golf game?
Silly idea but I’d love to see a pic. Of u and your bro. As boys. Bet u were so cute! Still are. Of course. Lol.
What an amazing mountain of work u are doing 👍 I hope u can get a ton of $ for the place. U all deserve it. For sure. ❤️

  15. Are you going to lose the floor tiles? If so it's a shame because they're charming, even though different from room to room.
Anyway underfloor plumbing is the most important thing to do, now. Little by little things are coming up. When do you think the house will be ready for you to go in? Can't wait to see it

  16. My goodness, the running of the pipes is making the work done on the roof look like a walk in the park. All of you are going to need a day off just to recuperate from the work, not to mention the heat.
