We visit Marbella Spain for a walking tour of Marbella beach and seafront and also head into the Old Town for a look around this popular luxury holiday destination!
Gimbal Walk TV visit Marbella which is a city and resort area on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, part of the Andalusia region. The Sierra Blanca Mountains are the backdrop to 27 km of sandy Mediterranean beaches, villas, hotels, and golf courses. A Marbella Villa is quite the status symbol and obviously a great investment on the Costa Del Sol.
West of Marbella town, the Golden Mile of prestigious nightclubs and coastal estates leads to Puerto Banús marina, filled with luxury yachts, and surrounded by upmarket boutiques and bars.
Marbella is known as the playground of Europe’s rich and famous. If the Costa del Sol was conceived as Europe’s Florida, then Marbella is its Miami.
Marbella is considered to be a more popular beach destination than Malaga. The beaches in Marbella are among the best in the world. The area boasts some of the best beaches in Europe. They are hubs of activity with lots of energy, and there are more than 18 miles of sandy beach in the area.
Marbella differs from Ibiza in that it doesn’t share a spiritual image, nor does it have quite the same clubbing scene or trendy Balearic island vibe. What is does have, however, is a solid reputation for luxury dating back to the 1950s and 60s with its own Old School Chic.
Is Marbella worth visiting? Yes, Marbella is definitely a place you don’t want to miss in Costa del Sol. Not only is it a great place to spend your holidays, but also to live. The town has numerous things to do – such as exploring the beautiful old town, visiting Puerto Banus, and playing golf. The Marbella Nightlife is excellent too!
You have to understand that Marbella is a working town where locals live and work, while Puerto Banús has a much more tourist resort look and feel. Marbella historic centre is one of the most beautiful in the area, very well preserved and lovely to walk.
The most well known and exclusive area is the Golden Mile. This is the stretch between Puerto Banus and Marbella town where you will find homes to millionaires with beachfront penthouses and villas appreciating unobstructed views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Marbella is known as a glamorous resort town and is a favourite location with the rich and famous, boosted by foreign residents who are seduced by the lifestyle. But there’s plenty for ordinary folk to see and enjoy too in southern Spain’s answer to St Tropez.
I hope you enjoyed this walk along Marbella Beach. If so why not subscribe to the Gimbal Walk TV channel for more?
